Re: Latest Eclipse Defense 37mm Pneumatic
Good job! Nice to see you're still keeping us updated. I will be following. I know the positive pressure piston valve, but do you now have a custom valve for the trigger? I remember the fist ones used 3-way cartridge valve by one manufacturer I know, but they don't go to 1200psi I think.

That should be 22g (grams) not 22oz (= 620 grams)Cthulhu wrote:Does this look right for a modified 1 inch sprinkler valve?
I'm getting very odd results using the optimization tool (such as a 1 inch chamber to 100 inch barrel).

Re: 2018 Impromptu Non-Ghetto Contest
Well, looks like this is another contest that failed to get off the ground. :( It's April 2nd here. Thanks to all who showed interest, and hopefully we can have a more successful event in the future. Oh no  I think we need longer time to participate, two months is not enough for some of us :...

You probably know this, but Utrons CLGG might give some ideas on burst disc and combustion control, there is some good information in the chapter "Combustion and pressure control" here is the document: http://www.dtic.mil/get-tr-doc/pdf?AD=ADA462130 example, "Pressure waves in the propellant gases a...

Re: 2018 Impromptu Non-Ghetto Contest
I think it's time for me to participate to my first spudfiles contest
Haven't done actual spudgun in many years. Since this is a non ghetto contest, I will give it my best with cnc machines and 3D printing. Hope to do something totally new

Re: QEV 200bar helium canon
Wow great. Always handy to have somebody that also uses metric. Not that imperial is an issue, but i can always convert things. But it sometimes is easier for me to learn, if i read tutorials etc then i get a faster idea in my head on wall thickness etc. But i guess people have the same issues if t...

Re: QEV 200bar helium canon
I could probably help. I have a vey nice stainless steel 1/2 " T fitting with very thick walls well suited for high pressures. I could machine suitable parts for it from stainless steel to make a piston valve from it. I'm a professional cad designer and cnc machiner. (I'm from Finland, so metric uni...

Still here, arrived when I was 12 and now I'm 20. Time flies. I swear it never leaves you, I still have an odd fascination with valves and pipes and all sorts... I'll build something someday. Nive to hear from you! Same here.. I got here when I was 15 and now I'm close to 27. I can't even look at l...

Re: Vortex Cannon design need help
Welcome!
I'm pretty sure you have too large chamber for that size nozzle.. you might also want to upgrade to QEV (quick exhaust valve), like the other one that Jack linked.. actually the smaller cannon linked is quite exactly what you probably want..

Re: The Offcial Machinist Thread: Revised 01/04/2014
Just a showcase of some stuff I have created, not really machined, more like sculptered, I only have access to a decent drill press, the rest is all hand tools. Mostly not spudgun related parts. If your'e patient and good with tools it's surprising what you can make. Very nice work! It would ne nic...
