I maybe found something ... I could try to make grooves on the 4 aluminium surfaces wich are in contact and fill those grooves with epoxy. Good idea, that would give it much better mechanical strength. Also go to a hardware store and get some new epoxy...make sure the packaging specifically says it...

Crazy Glue (Cyanoacrylate adhesive) is just a thin layer of acrylic AKA plastic. Go for it then. Still, i suspect that drawing enough power from a 9V battery to get a piece of wire to go incandescent is going to kill the battery pretty darn quick.
