Do you need any lubricant or other maintenance for a QEV?
So does a QEV require a maintenance dose of lubricant?
Next, what would one lubricate a QEV with?
And finally the little diaphragm/piston is that replaceable?

Rotary barrel, multi chamber launcher idea
I was wondering if anyone has made a similar item before? would it work and would it be good? Just a dodgy replica model I made up, to make a working model I would need a lathe and some tooling which I don't have...material would be pvc or copper sleeve for external "plumbing" purposes and and a hea...

The "engineering landmark" idea is fine. The problem is, people will see it as a "How good is this cannon" system. Perhaps this idea can be processed into something for the Spudwiki, a page of cannons that are good technical example of various traits, and articles that are worth the read. In fact, ...

I think the point has been missed! Basically so if I am researching the next evolution in Cannon design rather than have to search through a whole lot of average or unworkable designs, with a points based listing order I would hope to find what I needed quicker, while some threads of bad ideas and d...

Should/Can we install a ratings based listing in showcase?
In the showcase area I would like to see all forums listed by votes on a ranking system than the currently recency of last post listing. ie 5. high pressure, efficient, new design technology 4. Too good to be 3 or almost 5 just needed forum discussion inputs 3. nothing new but nicely done 2. needs t...

Swivel barrel unions, which is best poly, brass or other?
Looking at a build that requires 2-3 swivel barrel unions between 1/2 to 3/4 threads operating at pressures 200psi max and I have a choice of deciding pvc, poly, brass, or stainless for this area of the device which is 18bar 260psi rated PVC barrel/chamber and the yet to be decided other area. Brass...

Looking for a quieter valve/cannon design
I am planning my next projects namely 1/4" and 3/4" barrel devices approx 3' and after experiencing the noise of a 2" barrel piston cannon prototype, I would like something much quieter. I am thinking if I could mount a spring on the back of the piston that may help, am also trying to muffle the noi...
