Update: Made a gun of the same dimensions, but a piston valve. Ball Valve fires about 5-10 meters more every time at same psi.

I also think a larger valve would be less prone to leaks then the smaller, because the potato portion can be longer as well, causing a sort of natural gasket. Suggestion: you should film yourself firing it before the barrel is attached, and while slowly turning the knob. Would be interesting to say at which point to slips out.

I'm not sure how I would document the fact that its actually going into the valve, my barrel is not threaded so i cant take it off and film the potato actually going into the ball valve. I tried putting the camera in the barrel to film but no matter how i positioned the flashlight i could not get a ...

Haw-Haw
Just finished it, yesterday. Shot it today (100psi) with a potato in the valve and there was no mush! I even tried it again but turned the valve really slowly, and still, a perfect shot! No extra parts, no extra costs.

What part of a ball valve, some string and a can (or other piston-like object) would cost more then a piston valve?
