I made one. 4 inch diameter body with 2 inch barrel coax. Big. As. F***. Make sure you have a sabot or powder (as lubricant) for the grenades, they like to stick to the inside walls of the barrel and shred themselves when firing.

A burst disk mortar is unbelievably cheap. Put a pressure gauge on it and stop pumping once it reaches its max. I made one and it worked fantastically (although it wasn't coaxial, it doesn't change much). I used a small piece of wood with a hole through it for a screw, washer, and bolt to be my pier...

Sorry to interject, but I don't understand how your cannon works if the piston fits inside the barrel. Could you explain that to me?

If you've ever seen paintball grenade launchers they use several tubes loaded with paintballs in-line. I incorporated that style in my itty bitty cannon.

My friend owns an excavator and our summer plan is to build a "fallout shelter" which will ultimately be an underground mancave. We've got our permits and 95% of the necessary building materials. The only problem that has come up so far is how we are going to run electricity out to it. My much prefe...

I'm so glad this topic was brought up. I'm currently working on a coaxial piston pistol and I've been scouring by brain and the internet for ideas on how to breech load it. JSR is totally right, every idea I come up with a seem to run into problems making the mechanism airtight (but it shouldn't be ...

I don't see what the hose clamp has to do with anything concerning the paintballs not fitting. Possibly the breech itself isn't wide enough for the paintballs to get through, but that would be an obvious and easily fixed error.

Yay! I finally understand your gun now, haha. Oh, and in replacement of wadding you can use a neodymium magnet on the side of the gun to hold ferromagnetic projectiles in place.

QEV and shock pump questions

I plan on making a coaxial pistol. I want to make a qev like this one: but I do not fully understand how it works. I thought about using a modded sprinkler valve but it seems just too clunky for a pistol. I also considered ju...
