In a typical piston valve this would help but in coaxials air has to do a 180 deg turn to get into the barrel and the other surface ...

Yeah, that would make sense. I'm sorta thinking that maybe the barrel support could have slightly bent it out of shape, because it was quite a tight fit. Also, because of the pretty extreme valve seat to diameter ratio, the piston would have been putting much more force on the barrel than most canno...

ummm..... you broke a pvc chamber?? Did you use DWV fittings? (non pressure rated) Did you use the proper glue? yeh, though i'd have the barrel stopping just after the start of the 90 degree part. Not in the middle of it.

As is, it creates more turbulence and less flow.
