And some people prefer co-axial launcher to over-under configurations, and you can't use a QEV in a co-axial config, right? (except maybe as pilot).

Ahh ofcourse, area. How could I have been that stupid...
But does anyone has some idea's to mount a blowgun to a piston valve without quick connects and hoses and the like? Is soldering it reasonable?

Copper Coaxial Problems / Questions

I still have some unanswered questions about making a copper coaxial gun: 1. Is it a problem that the chamber is 22mm (3/4") and the barrel is 15mm(1/2")? Will a 12mm ( barrel ( smallest available copper here ) provide a better chamber to barrel ratio? Because it seems to me that using a 15mm barrel...

I am really sorry, I do not mean to take over this thread, but I have a quick off topic question, I have used the search button to no avail. How does one install a blowgun into an endcap for piloting? Soldering ? Glue ? Seriously, I do not know :( I have no access to screw on endcaps or something......

No pictures? Too bad, but I understand. I am planning on making one with a blowgun as pilot valve. The blow gun will be encased between 2 hollowed out pieces of wood and will double as cane handle, no CO2 for me :). Does it sound feasible ? The range on the Decimator sounds amazing! Congratulations ...

That's an amazing gun you have there! But I am interested in one of your other contraptions, also. A while back you posted in a thread of yours that you are working on a cane gun. I am very curious if you ever finished the actual 'cane' / wooden part of it? If you have I for one would love to see ho...

Oh okay, thanks for the major clarifictations, all!

Oh and Gipetto, I thought of that too but I thought the increased pilot volume might be a very bad thing for a small gun, like my design-thingy.
But if it doesn't matter alot, I'll do what you suggested!

Thanks all, sorry to bother you all.

Wow, nice build there! It's very similar to what I was thinking of, but I think I'll make mine shorter. You are not filling from the pilot side are you ? Do you have a spring or something ? by the way: is it possible to hook up a schrader ( or smaller bike valve ) and a blowgun to the same endcap ? ...

Oh, but I am filling via the chamber, via the little vertical piece.
I read somewhere on this marvelous site that that's alot faster than waiting for air to leak and equalize from the pilot space to the chamber ?

Is it very difficult to fill via the chamber?

Piston Handgun Design

Hello, I am planning on making my first piston gun, and decided that it will be a handgun. This is the design thus far: http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/4636/gunnyaz.th.jpg The barrel is 15mm OD and the chamber parts are 22mm OD. I will make a detachable bb-barrel for it, if I can find one... Well, do...

Cool idea, I like the walking cane part :D But the spring behind the piston, won't it release the air slower because of the fact that the spring must also be pushed back/ compressed (If thats the right word..? ) by the air in the chamber, or is that negligible? If the spring would be powerful enough...

Thanks for all of the advice people! As for the disassembling advice: Me and the guy who I made it with were already planning on doing that so we can have interchangable barrels, so that's quite convient actaully =) As for you question, psycix, it's just for carrying it to the above mentioned friend...

Wow thank you all, yes, even Thunderlord for the comic relief :). Sadly I am not 18 years of age, but I never carry it loaded/pumped up or something like that. But because I am 15 years old I am not even allowed to own it? But to recap: If I carry it concealed in my guitarcase, not loaded, not pumpe...
