That's what I thought, but since the entire problem was under water, it was confusing me.

Physics Question

I am trying to solve the volume of gasoline needed to keep a submarine stagnant in saltwater. I was given the weight of the sub in air, and then I solved for the weight in water. My question is this: to get the mass of the sub, (to plug in the equation p=m/V to find the volume of gasoline) would I d...

Try a system where the barrel slides inside a sleave and picks up one bb at a time, I'm sure there is a pic around here somewhere... http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/making-a-magazine-t18382.html there's a picture of what I'm talking about if you scroll down a bit. Hope you get this working! This is...

Why would you use a propane tank in between the compressor and gun? Portability is the only reason I can think of. Anyways unless you have a shut-off valve between the compressor and propane tank, it will just empty the compressor when you shoot the gun.

bb machine gun: update

Ok so I decided not to spend the money on a shock pump, so I used the entire tank assembly from an old bb gun and affixed a 5.56mm barrel to it. I have been trying to shoot darts out of it but all the darts I design don't go far enough, but then when I give them more wieght, they are no longer able ...

Did I ever say I was comfortable with using propane at all??? :? I don't recall. Don't think your some sort of genius picking apart people's posts and and throwing it back in their face to make it look like you know what you're doing. Even though you are a mechanical engineer and really do know what...

The power change from 0ms to 4 ms valve time is huge on a plastic pellet.

Yeah it is :o . Sorry I didn't specify but i meant you wouldn't notice much of a difference on a big projectile like a potato. I need to be more specific on these forums :x

If your plunger actually did suck any marshmallows in, (which I doubt it will but I don't know for sure) it would probably just suck a clump of them in at once, rather than just one.

IE, a wood screw is technically self-tapping. It screws in on its own.
Thank you for the update professor  .
Anyways a spark strip with a stun-gun is the way to go.[/quote]
