Re: Electric Semi Auto .22 Air Rifle Modification
Success! I replaced the capacitor with one that could handle a higher voltage (63V, 2200uF) and cranked up the voltage all the way to 60V. Using the same solenoid managed to open the valve and produce a loud "CRACK!". If you want to see it in action, take a look at this youtube video: [youtube]https...

Re: Electric Semi Auto .22 Air Rifle Modification
Update: I decided on using a solenoid as a "hammer" instead. Here's the testing rig: https://i.imgur.com/av9dK6I.jpg The long rod is 1 foot of 0.75 inch diameter polycarbonate. The solenoid I currently have is not strong enough. It pushes the rod into the valve but it's not enough to "crack" it. I f...

Re: Electric Semi Auto .22 Air Rifle Modification
External battery pack or really hollowed out stock??? Getting it all in there in good alignment for smooth operation might be tricky.... Battery will be in a hollowed out stock attached to a receiver that will house the air gun's receiver, the bolt and hammer, and the AEG gearbox components. The bo...

Electric Semi Auto .22 Air Rifle Modification
I am planning to convert a bolt action CO2 .22 air rifle (XS 60C) to semi/full auto by using an electric airsoft gun gearbox lower half (gears without piston) to pull back the bolt and hammer and release them. I noticed in airsoft guns the air nozzle pushes the BB forwards into the breech before or ...

Re: Dimensions from Crosman 1077
Thanks for the responses. The issue is that I don't have one on hand to measure yet.
This is simply to see if the design I have drawn up on CAD can even fit the air gun before I commit to machining out the parts.

Dimensions from Crosman 1077
I'm trying to make a new body for a Crosman 1077 and I need a few dimensions: Width of receiver Outer diameter of CO2 gas tube (where cartridge goes, see diagram) Distance between outer surface of CO2 gas tube and outer barrel shroud (see diagram) Outer diameter of barrel (see diagram) http://i.minu...

Safe Pressures for Brass BSPP Elbows from China
I'm planning on using these brass BSPP elbows from China. They're the same as the ones being sold here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-2-BSPP-Connection-90Degree-Elbow-Male-Pipe-Brass-Adapter-Coupler-/320997687145?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4abcf3ff69 What pressure would they be safe to use at? I don...

.177 Rifled Barrels
Do any of you guys (in the US) have experience ordering parts from Crosman? I heard that you can order replacement parts from them through the phone, and it does not seem to be too expensive: a forum post on an airgun site said that a 24-inch barrel was only $12 (don't know if that includes shipping...

Lubrication for Slide Valve
I have one of these slide valves.
I notice that they get noticeable harder to pull when left alone for even a short period of time (a few hours). What would be safe to use to lubricate them?
I was thinking mineral oil.

Thanks for the info JSR. So can a pump similar to Gippeto's reach 400PSI easily and fill the reservoir and chamber in my design to that pressure? My design is: http://i.minus.com/ibkGT2IJfajCtc.jpg It has a 6.09 in^3 reservoir with a 0.439 in^3 chamber. Second, will the design even work? Also, what ...

How do I model QEV + Slide Valve system in GGDT?
I'm still trying to plan my multi-shot pneumatic and need a little help in GGDT. I need to model the QEV + Slide Valve assembly. Currently, I'm using settings based on JSR's post here: http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/viewtopic,p,358482.html#358482 I'm not even sure it's correct though. Here's the da...
