Re: Balanced UnBalanced Piston
Thats much clearer. Thanks for diagram, JSR. That's quick. The legend lives on. Now this is a clever alternative to my previous one. I like the part where you can service the internals. Lets see if i can fabricate something similar. Without the mess of casting. Turning this into a slide trigger requ...

Re: Balanced UnBalanced Piston
Thanks for photos effort, JSR. I keep wondering how the intermal of the spool looks like. Both ends of the spool got hole, and it seems to be a tunnel from one end to the other. There is a hole on the body at the end of one side. In which case, how can it be a balanced spool? How does it work when i...

Re: Balanced UnBalanced Piston
JSR, thats a cool option. Can you draw up a quick diagram on the internal working of the CAM 870? MrFoo, thank you for the long long explaination. I wished to have more complete tools to do all that. But the tools I have are basics, and a lot of the fabrications I did were just out of the box. Very ...

Re: Balanced UnBalanced Piston
MrFoo, can you pull out some diagrams to explain your methods?
All these years on spudding, i only used a drill press, grinder and lots of epoxy (yah!). Coz that's all i have.

Re: Balanced UnBalanced Piston
JSR. a day after the second attempt, i had that thought exactly. The orings only had "nice fit" on the rod. Not loose, nor too tight, but just nice. Even the rod slides in and out rather easy. Interestingly, if i rotate the body around, at some point, the leaking just stops. And so, this gives anoth...

Re: Balanced UnBalanced Piston
And so, its Plan B then, since the previous diagrams logic ain't working. Plan B: 3way_slide.jpg To make it, obviously you need to make "rod seal" type, which is head-scratching, since "piston seal" is easier and more common. Materials: solid rod (got to make 2 inline holes with exits at appropriate...

Re: Balanced UnBalanced Piston
I had my suspicion about it before posting, but just wanted confirmation from the experts here.
How about this one? The o-rings are not on the piston but on the piston valve body (what you call this type of piston + grooves)? Will the piston move to the right?

Balanced UnBalanced Piston
Hello,
Does anyone know, in this scenario, will the piston move to the right, or remain stationary (as in QDV)?

Re: QEV: Sealing Face MODS.
Ahh, the legend himself replied my first ever public message. *honored* Thanks, JSR, for the tips. Actually, I got caught on this QEV bug only quite recently. Though it started 5-6 years ago (just made it, made it to work, without full understanding of the finer details of it or its technical specs)...

QEV: Sealing Face MODS.
Hello. In an attempt to overcome the QEV under 500psi limits, which I assumed is due to the fact that the sealing face will be sliced off by the sharp opposite end, I came up with this: http://imgur.com/a/Mnoq7 The left one is what we have come to know very well. The right one is the newly modded on...
