Re: Custom Aluminum Pneumatic Build

Re: Custom Aluminum Pneumatic Build
Overkill. I mean... This whole cannon is overkill. Gotta stop somewhere.wyz2285 wrote:Why not use pneumatic cylinders and just adjust the pressure?
Not just that. 1 or 2 psi might be so much pressure that it doesn't recoil.
PS, love the sig.

Re: Custom Aluminum Pneumatic Build
Hour of calculations. Make a few springs. Build device to measure spring rates. Adjust method of building springs until proper spring rate is acquired. Or. Make a spring.Try it. Adjust rate if needed. There's two ways to build things. Calculate the hell out of it. Build by the seat of your pants. I ...

Re: Custom Aluminum Pneumatic Build
I'm thinking springs will suffice. I was going to coil up my own from some stainless steel wire. Can't really be sure how how much spring pressure I need until trying.

Re: Custom Aluminum Pneumatic Build
I'll be putting the whole gun on a slide. The stand will stay put and the entire gun will recoil. Parts are started. I'm staying with my box push button launch system. No interest in holding the gun while it fires, no need.

That's about what the NTW-20 has. Slow motion at 2:10.
Enjoy the 80s soundtrack![]()

Re: Custom Aluminum Pneumatic Build
I cut a foot off the barrel. It was way to long. Drew up plans for the recoil system. How much travel do you think it should have? vote now  I'm thinking 4" travel. Nice and visible. I purchased a 400mw green laser some time ago. Bored of it as a laser pen. It will find a good home in the c...

Re: Custom Aluminum Pneumatic Build
Just a little update. I decided to keep the cannon after all. I have plans for a recoil system, reworked valves, new stand, green laser dot sighting, some skinning to really sexy up the look. Not much time on my hands right now but soon. Soon :alien: Very impressive. Will it be easy to feed it with...

Any other good suggestions? Replace the pilot by a safety/pop off valve, add a ignition to the chamber, make the piston airtight on both sides and turn it to a hybrid  should be fine <5x lol........ Video: [/yo...
