Re: "In the world of spuds today"
I think you just left it high and dry, did you get the material from some fake plastic trees? :D Interesting observations, the question is whether this air was already in the sealant or if it was forced in by the pressure. No cheapo stuff here, E600 adhesive, and car engine gasket makers. Both come...

Re: "In the world of spuds today"
I made a simple pressure chamber to test various sealants at high pressure and something I've noticed is after some time at around 1000psi some of the rubbery sealant adhesives such as silicone get tons of tiny bubbles in them, are these bubbles the result of rapid depressurization of dissolved air ...

Re: I'm back!
I'm shooting 360 grain slugs at the moment. At 1800 psi it shoots clean through 2" plywood. No hesitation at all. At 3000 I feel like it could drop a grizzly bear. A chronograph is pretty high up on my list but currently I dont have any actual number for performance. Madness. Can't wait to see a vi...

That's very nice, I always like seeing rifled barrels on homemade airguns. Tell us about the performance.

Re: .25 cal Umarex 1894 Conversion
Very cool project! We have these at the shop and were just discussing how it would be the basis for something a bit more hardcore :D I guess the valve looks a bit like the one on airsoft revolvers? https://i.imgur.com/wYllAqL.jpg If so you might want to look into the possibility of opening up the f...

.25 cal Umarex 1894 Conversion
Imgur album below https://imgur.com/a/sEVcgje I picked up this fun .177 rifle last year. A handy little lever action and a decent plinker, but I actually primarily wanted it for the mechanism which imitates the real gun with shells that chamber and eject with a wonderful metallic ratcheting. I spend...

Re: Self contained airsoft, pump action.
Neat idea to have the cylinder compress forward instead of back, I've seen this in Nerf guns but never an airsoft. Seems like it would be good for a compact bullpup as you seem to have.

Re: Perfect Brass Barrel for 1/4" Slingshot Ammo
Nope. It's a very airtight fit, but a bearing can still drop through under gravity alone. Very close tolerences.

Perfect Brass Barrel for 1/4" Slingshot Ammo
Just wanted to share a valuable resource with any others out there looking for a good tightbore barrel. McMaster Carr have these in stock
https://www.mcmaster.com/8950k552
Just need to de-burr the cut ends with a fine grit sandpaper when it arrives.
Thanks to Farcticox for finding this.

Just wanted to say I went ahead and ordered a piece of this and is an excellent airtight fit for store bought 1/4" slingshot ball ammo, airsoft barrel wall thickness, arrived un-bent too. Re: "In the world of spuds today"
Bought one of the Nerf Rival pistols for my nephew, ended up basically stealing it back because it's fun to plink cans with and the action is pretty cool.

Re: Short question topic
@JRRDW, could you explain what you mean by air getting around the projectile and slowing it down? What I had in mind was a barrel diameter that narrows by less than a millimeter, going from decently airtight, to requiring a few tamps with a ramrod to fully seat. If the projectile is air tight from ...
