vortex + polymer water beads?
my nephews are now old enough to play Nerf. I'd like to play shooting games with them in the woods behind my house but i dont want plastic nerf darts littering the area. i need a biodegradable alternative. low impact (JT splatmaster) paintball guns are still too powerful for them. i was thinking of ...

Re: stonebow
if i had to take a guess, i'd say the draw force is around 30-40lbs. I can use downhill ski's to double the coking force, but I'm effectively dry-firing the crossbow when shooting lightweight paintballs which puts a shitload of stress on the string and limbs. I havnt shot any metal/clay projectiles ...

stonebow
Otherwise known as a pellet/bullet shooting crossbow. I built this thing to see: A) how accurate are they? B) how fast do they shoot? What I've learnt is that these things are super finnicky! I've shot paintballs with insane ball-on-ball accuracy at 25 yards, then tweaked the string/pouch and had pa...

at around 50 psi, the pool noodles start to split and tear. with 80 psi, the noodles explode in the barrelPotato Demon wrote:I’d be curious what that would do with 80 psi.

spool valve design. primary intention: paintball
i came up with this design a few years ago and my intentions were to keep it secret until i could come up with a better prototype version that i could eventually produce and sell. my dream was - and still is - to have it cast in aluminium, very similarly to the Tippmann SL68's. the prototype was a s...

paintball gun dimensions (Tippmann SL-68 II)
I have taken measurements of a Tippmann SL-68 II paintball gun internals, mostly for my own record keeping but others may want to take advantage of this data. I couldnt be bothered taking measurements of the bolt-catch or trigger - tough tacky, figure it out from the pictures. Adjustments may be req...

Nerf Bazooka
internals are a simple sprinkler valve based spud gun. i know its rough but im not sure if i want to keep the grips natural or paint them green with the rest of it. about 20psi will launch the pool noodles a good distance for nerf but they have an awful lot of mass to them - too much to shoot a 5 ye...

how it works: the flexible rubber tube (300psi air hose in this case) is crimped in the middle by a lever, preventing air from escaping. once the lever is released and the hose becomes un-crimped, the air is free to pass through. it works much like kinking a garden hose. 20180629_184824 - Copy.jpg 2...

Re: paintball gun
everybody likes a video, so i made one to prove that its not just a pretty model. auto-trigger needs some work but other than that, it works well. about 30-40 shots per 12g CO2

Re: paintball gun
a lot of things changed throughout the build process. feed neck was added. barrel is clamped into place etc. but the basic mechanism remains the same. if you want to find out more about how the mechanism works, try googling "nelson valve animation". and yes, as you may have guessed, this is a nelson...

Re: paintball gun
12g co2 cartridges. But i could connect it up to hpa if i really wanted. The tube/rod sticking out of the barrel shroud is just a linkage bewteen the pump handle(barrel shroud) and the bolt. I agree it definitely looks wicked cool in plain machined aluminium but i play 10-shot games and i need to be...
