Um... That's a good question. I did a project for school earlier this year involving chamber to barrel volume ratios, and with a single chamber and a single barrel, I found a 1:1 volume ratio to work the best. So, I would make the chamber big enough that its volume equals the combined volume of the t...

Let me see if I get this right. You are going to drill a 1/2" hole in the side of your combustion chamber wall, jam in a long nose BBQ lighter, inject your fuel, hold on to your spudgun, and then pull the trigger on the lighter that has nothing to hold it in place and hope that one hand or the othe...

Cheapest Ignition System to Date
Okay, with everyone boasting about how great their stun guns or whatever are, I just thought I'd post the cheapest, easiest ignition system possible. Simply drill a hole in the wall of the combustion chamber with a 1/2 inch bit, approximately in the middle of the chamber. Then, use a long-nosed gril...

1:1 is in my opinion the best compromise - It goes Bang quite well, without too much power loss. Personally, I prefer quieter cannons, because I live in a sub-urban area, so I keep my C:B ratios low for both combustions and pneumatics to avoid too much noise. So, if building a combustion, I'd do it...

The Butane I use is in a lighter fuel canister, which is just liquid Butane in a spray can. Just put an atomizer from any other spray on the top of it and it's actually very easy to meter. You just need to hold the can upside-down in order to get the liquid, though. It's still pretty easy to do, and...

Favorite Fuels?
I know everyone has their favorite that they love to use. So what is it? And why? Personally, I've gotten the best results from butane.

Well, this is the broke spudgunner alternative. I don't have anywhere nearby where I can get a stun gun, so this is the next best thing. Plus, this is the best one for switching out different chambers, because you can switch out your chambers, which is my project. By the way, if anyone has any info ...

New Ignition System Design
I've never seen anyone mention this, so I think i've probably invented it. This being said, DON'T STEAL MY IDEA. I don't mind people using it, otherwise I wouldn't post it, but don't claim you created it. If you did, you'd have already said it. Anyway, Here it is: I have wire on the outside that run...
