I think your right....I do not know how it was mounted to the grill because I found it in my garage 8) I figured it out though...on the side of my igniter there is a tiny wire that runs downward burrowed into the plastic...at the bottom where it ends its bent 90* in, I wrapped a 24ga wire to it and ...

this is what mine looks like, sort of...the end piece does not look like a sparkplug however, just a ceramic piece with a tip on it. there is only one wire coming from teh bottom of the lighter and if i hold the end piece to a ground and push it, it will spark. http://www.webworld24.com/v2.0/tmp/401...
