I've made 3/4 fit into 1" pipe before by softening it in boiling water, that and the fact that the piece of 1" that I'm using won't be any longer than 1 1/4 inches, so it won't be hard to get onto the pipe. That and the fact that theres a section at the bottom of the 1 and 3/4 inch pipe cut away, it...
