I really need to make something like that. After fielding the rifle I have its WAY too long. On a side note, I don't think an HPA source would ever survive. Even running a vortex on 40oz of CO2 through a manifold doesn't last long enough for a full day. The only time I ever took my BBMG to a field I...

Some of the pics used in the second video here. Since the video I have hip fired it and there is very little recoil even when shooting a full tube of caulk at a tree. The gun is so heavy with the 10 foot barrel that it recoils straight back only about 4 inches. With all the big bores I have around h...

Isn't there normally a temperature associated with a given pressure rating for PVC? As I understand it at higher temperatures PVC becomes more elastic and at lower temperatures it becomes more brittle. It's really only the extremes in either case that cause failure but I don't care to test this idea...

Impressive, four big bores and I have yet to attempt a piston. Good work, though I wonder how much that thing flexes at the tee's. I don't know if you have any brace blocks in mind but a stress crack (though unlikely with that size and weight) is a terrible fate for a gun. Have fun with it and keep ...

That's why I dubbed it the Fat Banana, it just looks weird, I couldn't stop laughing while I had it hanging for paint. Super long barrel is on the way. I need to get a TB barrel ready and GB barrel as well as a longer full spud barrel (I hate half spuds 1.5") EDIT: Test Fire Video. Good news its qui...

Very, very, well done. I'm sure you put a lot of hours into CAD or plain sketching. I don't know that I would even feel comfortable about putting that much money into something especially to a machine shop to do it for you but the end result is simply beautiful. Very well thought out, very well exec...

Updated!! 7/5/08 w/ vids- Fat Banana Cannon
So, this is a cannon I made while I was at school in the welding shop. Its made from a 20LB propane tank and I tig welded the 1 1/2" standpipe on after using a dremel to cut out the old bung. I could have cut it other ways but I was worried about heat messing up the metallurgy. I'm guessing I could ...

some very clever idears, i like the zip gun type mechanism. cheap and dirty but it works. you could prolly do a cheapy AEG gearbox and rack to the advanced designs, but would there be enough air for a blow forward bolt or would you just run highish pressure, 100 psi realm. stupid question i guess, t...

1:2 or 1:1.5 is usually what I aim for. One of my guns is 1:3 just so I have the option of different barrels. Course its no big deal to have a bigger tank than you need. Some of my guns do fine with 1:1 and others do fine over 1:4. It depends on how scientific you want to get. I just want stuff that...

I can understand the cold weather issue, I have a two car garage with a concrete ice cube as a floor. No heat since this is all an addition to the house. I'll prolly be taking a break after my BBMG thoroughly raped my wallet, the ammo and scope stuff is the final buy, along with the Asco valve deal ...

JSR if you have the air supply to make this work you'll prolly be tied to a shop, and thus power right? Unless you have bulk nitro, HPA, or Co2. You could always go with electric control couldn't you? and then adjust the cycle times or even a "no ammo" disable so it won't dry fire. I know electrics ...
