Xtreme-patator
Hi guys, i'm presenting to you my new project : a hybride canon that will shoot 16mm glass BBs (kids toys ones), at 10 bars pre-pressure (~150PSI) for the first tests, and eventually, up to 300PSI Chamber will be made in steel, with a welded plug, canon will be a copper tube, 3 points flash ignitor,...

Re: Xtreme-patator
The gun looks nice, in general. How do you plan to measure the air-fuel mixture? On the other hand, keep in mind that the copper barrel is not very solid at 300 psi, and it is under high pressure ... if you can get a tube of steel, that is better. I have tried it with a 7X hybrid copper tube, in .25...

Re: Xtreme-patator
Nice.

Semiauto Nerf Rival with no moving parts.
Testing an idea I had for a semiauto tube fed gravity feed and it seems to work, air goes up into the magazine and pushes the balls back up the tube because of a small amount of air bleeding out of the top of the tube, when the pressure builds up enough the front ball pops out like a cork as there i...

Re: Semiauto Nerf Rival with no moving parts.
This system worked perfectly for me, which is what makes 25 bb's of lead rise, caliber .22 in my replica of MAC 11. https://www.spudfiles.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=26856I used a small flow regulator to regulate the amount of air that rises through the tube that it keeps ammunition. What I don't like ...

Re: Semiauto Nerf Rival with no moving parts.
There is a loading gate which is not a tight fit so it lets out enough air to keep the balls pushed up, it fires really good at 100psi.

Re: How to make an Air cannon sound cooler/louder?
Try to cover the muzzle of the firing cannon with a piece of tape. It is not a question of introducing anything, rather of obstructing the muzzle of the barrel with plastic tape. When you fire, with its standard ammunition, the tape will soften and the projectile will come out freely, but that cause...

Re: "In the world of spuds today"
I agree with JSR. I wouldn't expect any major revolutions in the airgun world, but instead continued incremental evolution and possibly changing popularity trends. You can already buy a PCP semi-auto that will shoot the wings off a gnat. What would really get me excited is the commercialization of ...

Re: The Offcial Machinist Thread: Revised 01/04/2014
Busy with life so not much in the way of spudding but I did indulge in a bit of lathe time for something a little more artistic for... reasons. Now that I no longer have a laboratory to appropriate concentrated acids from, I tried my hand at salt water etching and while it's not as deep as what I wa...

Re: Hybrid Piston Pilot Air Ratio
If you're right. I'm going to try to get a harder o'ring, as a first alternative solution. The second may be, why not? what you propose, make a thread in the place of the o'ring groove, and a small plate with some material to seal the exit of the combustion chamber. For now I have to try another har...

I CAN HAZ MILING MACHIEN?
It's been a while that I've been looking for a smallish milling machine to go with my smallish lathe(s). Yes, I am aware that the chinese make some fairly capable small milling machines. But I simply don't like them. Horrible yucky plastic tat. Id far rather something made of great big chunks of cas...

Re: I CAN HAZ MILING MACHIEN?
So, spent some time stripping down a bit. Managed to unblock the tooling and the Z axis, (hooray for hand winches), loking at the scraping marks on the slideways and gibs I thought to myself "that's been rescraped", but given the way the gibs fit, I'd be surprised if it's done many hours from new. D...
