Re: Reputation system and the new layout
Excellent item to bring up! I received a PM about this too. One of the biggest pitfalls (in the past) with big upgrades to SpudFiles is that oftentimes the fun "spudbux" to "reputation" points vanish. These features are not native to the forum software, they were manually added in by me (and friendl...

Describe the ultimate potato cannon
Describe what you feel would be the ultimate potato cannon. Bore size, pneumatic or combustion, power class, features such as spud cutting and breach loading, ease of use should be very important as well, etc etc. Consider all you have seen and learned from this hobby over the years and use your min...

Re: Short question topic
Okay heres a weird question that will probably be obvious in hindsight. I think it would make sense but lemme ask you guys: So obviously there is such a thing as too tight of a barrel for a given projectile. Unless you have a pretty massive air chamber, once you start having to hammer down a project...

You can search these forums for "honking" for a number of posts about the problem.

Re: Confused. Cylinder chamber to barrel ratio for compressed air.
If you have the same air volume and the chamber is 1/3 the volume, the pressure will increase by 3x.

Re: Off Topic - is it illegal to draw a silencer in California?
Can you legally purchase this book in California? Or this one , or this ? If so, I doubt you could be prosecuted for simply drawing something. I mean you could also design a full auto assault rifle, but you wouldn't worry about being prosecuted for that. For reference and historical purposes only. V...

Which side do we like the User Information on?
When viewing posts... the "default" is on the right, which is how it is right now. I had it on the left a few months ago, but did a software upgrade that moved it back to the right. There is a small amount of customization I must do to continue to keep it on the left and have that persist through fo...

Pressure rating for Coaxial cannons
I was contemplating about making a coaxial type air cannon design but I had a thought about the pressure rating. We know that certain pipes has been factory tested to withstand a certain amount of pressure inside of it. But what if that pressure is being applied outside of it? That's basically what'...

Re: Pressure rating for Coaxial cannons
See link with external pressure ratings for PVC. They call it "critical collapse" pressure ratings. You can compare the critical collapse rating with the internal pressure rating.
