Re: Hybrid disk burst pressure effect on performance
Very interesting results. I feel like people had to know about this before, considering how old this hobby is. But, here we are, seemingly on the cusp of yet another evolution of the hobby: the pursuit of turbulence-inducing chamber designs. I have a large 2x hybrid (the one in my thumbnail pic) and...

Re: Hybrid disk burst pressure effect on performance
That's enough experimentation for this session but I would also like to try cutting down the baffle to make the "second chamber" smaller to see if that makes a difference, I wonder if it will increase or reduce peak pressure at the disk. If my gut is right, making the baffle shorter (increasing vol...

Re: Hybrid disk burst pressure effect on performance
A mesh screen would kick up turbulence but also suck up a lot of heat. We have discussed before if running the chamber fan during firing might increase the burn speed. Way back when I measured burn speed in a closed chamber at 1x with/without the fan running and with one or three sparks gaps. There...

Re: fl(air) gun - mechanically locked pneumatic cartridge for a 26.5mm flare gun
This modification idea could be used as an easy-to-manufacture check valve. The important thing is that it seals quickly without any spring.

Re: fl(air) gun - mechanically locked pneumatic cartridge for a 26.5mm flare gun
Awesome!! You're right, with steel it will last longer... I never thought that the abuse would be so much, but after seeing aluminum, they are very harsh operating conditions. Nice pictures!!

I agree with Hectmarr that is a neat way to build a check valve.

Homemade PCP shotgun
Hello! I am new to this forum. I’ve spent the last couple months planning out the building of a PCP air rifle. I wanted to run the specs by this forum before I began building. The specs: It will be a lever action shotgun, with 1/8” thick aluminum as the barrel. The air will travel into the barrel vi...

Re: Hybrid handgun with rupture disc
I compared it to a commercial PCP pistol of the same caliber and they shoot the same. Two meters from the target, with the same 16g pellet, they pass through the two three cans of soup. According to the stopwatch of my friends who have the same weapon, it is around 700 to 750 fps with 130 bar in the...

Hybrid handgun with rupture disc
I had this project in mind for quite some time, and I have finally finished it. This is this .22 caliber pistol that fires common pellets, associated with a rupture disc. The advantage is that the weapon can be supplied in the same way as a common, commercial compressed air gun. It has an inverted l...

Re: My current hobby: Cowboy Action Shooting
And as a minor brag, I set a new personal best last weekend....
...Still not going to win any championships, but I felt really good about that run.

Spare parts throw down.
Hey guys!
Long time lurker, thaught I should say hello,
Got a bit too drunk last night, woke up this morning with a new cannon.
First test run this morning 380m with a small potato.
Chamber is an old C02 tank with a 50mm stainless barrel.
Time to bolt a measured gas feed onto it.

Re: Hybrid handgun with rupture disc
Excellent work as always, as I've said privately the fact that you've made it work consistently would be admirable even if looked like a bunch of random parts thrown together, but you've also managed to make it neat and stylish, kudos! The trigger guard integrated in the pump handle is really a nic...

3D Printed 2000psi Air Bow
Hello everyone, I am from Asia and I have been a fan of this forum. Recently, I have started to try DIY projects. As English is not my native language, I am using GTP for translation. :D :D I will try my best to describe text using images. :P https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/995270392316952646...
