I can't wait to see it finished. That size will be impressive.

My time is usually more valuable than the materials themselves post drawings with materials and tolerances and I will consider.turner wrote:wait jack, are you machine simple pieces if we pay for materials? I have an airgun idea that would be really simple.

Just wondering if anyone can make this part, it's a bit weird. Material has to be strong, brass might do it. But right now I'm wondering if anyone can even make it.

anyone here have a cnc mill?
edit: wonder what the price qutoe would be for an aluminum barrel spacer for a 6mm barrel, deltrin piston and an aluminum back housing with a shrader valve inside and orings to be a serviceable 1/2 coax

Well, since you're 'Just Wondering"....Yes. It's an extremely simple part and most anyone can make it. Why not machine it from steel as it's cheaper and stronger than brass ?Gun Freak wrote: But right now I'm wondering if anyone can even make it.

Thanks, I'm not very educated on machining so I wasn't sure if uncommon dies were needed to make the threads. I thought steel was more expensive, but it was what I wanted to have it made from. Thanks velocity.

Most every machine / welding shop has a pile of scrap steel shapes and small bits around the shop just for small jobs. Material that small isn't worth the embarrassment of charging for it. I'm sure you'll find steel to be free.Gun Freak wrote: I thought steel was more expensive, but it was what I wanted to have it made from.

Yeah I guess you're right.
If this was to be made, would a die be used, or a cutting tool and slow speed? Probably depends on the machine and machinist, right?
