here is an idea if u want an exploding projectile take an estes rocket engine scrape out the white stuff that is infront of the parachute ejection poder then glue the rocket engine into a tube fill the tube with black powder then put nose cone on it put wadding in ur barrel put the starter in the attach the wires to the starter put the rockert down the barrel so when u fire the cannon start the rocket at the same time it will go hit the target and then blow up

a piece of 1" PVC with a battery inside of it? maybe.

a good ammo is to take a piece of wood the same diameter as your barrel(a dowel for smaller bore guns) cut of two pieces, about a 1/2 in. long, but one in the barrel, pour in a bunch of metal bb's and put the other one in on top. the wood will keep the bb's in place and when you fire, there will be two larger and more accurate projectiles with hundreds of bb's! wouldnt want to get slammed by one of those!

Wait a second, this thing’s still going? Who won anyway?
How about this?
Read all the directions before trying this. go to your local hardware store and get a ½ inch steel rod about one or two feet long, and a piece of small, like half inch, diameter tubing (conduit’s fine). go to China-Mart and by as much charcoal as you can afford and not the brickets<sp> the genuine hard wood charcoal as it burns hotter. Also pickup the longest par of pliers you can find, unless you’ve already got long ones. Oh and if you ain’t got one pickup a five gallon bucket. You’ll also need ether an anvil, or something to use as one, I started of using a brake disc, now I use an old section of railroad track. You’ll also need a long pan big enough to stick the whole rod in, and enough vegetable oil to fill the pan
Now when you get home dig a hole about 1 foot deep and big enough to lay your rod in and fill it with charcoal, one or two bags. Now than if you got an air compressor this’ll be easy if you don’t you’ll ether need good friends or a deep pocket. If you got an air compressor take put the blowgun on it. Take the piece of small diameter steel pipe, place one end of the pipe in the hole under the charcoal. Now comes the fun part, get the charcoal burning (if you can’t figure this out than please stop here) now take the steel rod and place the tip in the fire blow in to the pipe with the blowgun or your lungs, keep blowing till the steel turns a cherry red, now place it on your anvil and pound it to a point with your hand, no just kidding, use a hammer, hit the rod roll it hit it again and repeat till it cools off (stops being red and glowy) put it back in the fire and reheat it, keep doing that till your satisfied with the point. Now flatten the back partially so it will be easer to drill a hole in it. Take a drill and a drill bit and drill a hole in the flattened area. Now place the whole rod in the fire and heat it up till its non magnetic (check it with a magnet every few minuets) now comes the fun part place the rod in the oil, stand back it’ll flare up so be careful, once it all cools off scrub off ALL the oil. Now heat up your oven (ask you ma first so you don’t get in trouble) to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and place the rod in the oven for 45 minuets then take it out and let it cool to room temperature then place it back in the oven for another 45 minuets take it out let it cool, you’ve now got a harden steel dart minus the fleches. Tie some string on the end (that’s what the hole’s for)
DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING IT IS VARY DANGEROUS!!!! Not responsible for accidental injury or death. Once again this is dangerous do not try it.
Call me "Judge", it's easier to type.

i've re-invented the explosive ammo. i'll post some pics later. it consists of a little cap, filled with highly inflamable powder, some hard paste like bondo over it, with a small hole on the middle, a priming cap for cracker-guns in the hole. When you fire it, the projectile leaves the barrel at high velocity, and when it hits a wall, or something hard, the cap is ignited by high impact and friction, and lights up the powder, the little cap explodes, causing some little debris to fly at maximum 5 eters from impacts, but with high energy.
