Thanks for telling us... We all love to be informed of nothing. It is our biggest hobby in case you haven't noticed.
Do not look back, and grieve over the past, for it is gone;
Do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come;
Live life in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.

Hes either pointing out to incendiary ammo or hes just being dumb.
Though either way, he should indeed just have shut up.

B=If you have a wife and 3 daughters they're easily attainable...POLAND_SPUD wrote:well I don't know if it is a viable post here but I've been observing this thread and I think that most ideas here are far form being practical...
esspecialy for small bore guns which normaly achieve higher velocities... I don't know if it's just me but normally there is no way to safely fire and retrive ammo afterwards
so IMO it isn't practical to make ammo that:
A costs a lot,
B is built from stuff you don't have or can't obtain cheap and or in large quantities ('small tubes from hand lotion/cosmetics' doesn't count as easily obtainable )
C is imposible to reuse/find
D takes a lot of time to make
I fired all the different (and sometimes weird) stuff... but in the end the only ammo I use are marbles and sometimes steel bolts
before you flame me... think about it

I've come up with designs for new air burst ammo using electronics instead of a cable, and even though it should cost aboot $2.50 a round (excluding the motor, debating the use of servos over a micro motor, depending on price of either) as long as I can use the chips I want to use (If I can't the price goes to $6.50 a round, using the chips I KNOW I can use, but cost $4 a pop)they are still gonna be fairly easy to make, especially since it's designed to fill the paintball scenario role of a US Javelin launcher, as opposed to a LAW (primary role is same as an operational CA-3 would be, with added Anti-Tank capability). A few metal contacts, a motor, a single chip, some string, a bottle, and a few cuts. You could easily make 20 of these in half an hour. But their meant to be fired as non-guiding missiles, instead of cannon shells. So you won't fire many, but they will do what you want them to.
My only snag so far is finding a design for a laser rangefinder with a 30M range and a resolution of maybe 1-2ft. My google searches turn up naught but ultrasonics for 8ft ranges and idiots who whine that light travels too fast to time it effectively.

@seeking9006:
30meter Rangefinder:
some of the laser tape measures out there might be suitable. I seem to recall that several have 120' (~35m) measurement ability (brands escape me ATM. . . look in the back issues of "fine homebuilding" for 2007 or 2008.)
an online article that might yield some leads:

not that I'm advocating Amazon.com, but:
might also suit you.
price will be the big issue here, I suspect.

stink bombs say what size r water ballons please not 2.5" pvc/abs i cant get that here
great plinking ammo for .40 caliber blowgun barrel guns is spent 9mm shell casings, and you can normally get them free if you know someone that shoots or if you have a gun range nearby...
not real aerodynamic, but when fired base side first the weight forward balance keeps them from tumbling even though they have a flat front...

hmm stink bombs is a good idea but i see little potentual use for it that in neither dangerous nor just plain stupid. Though if you had some iron sulfide and hydrocloric acid and formed hydrogen sulfide it would generate alot of awful smell...
@jeep, i think the might also be balance due to an affect used in pellets, i forgot the name but if a projectile has a hole benind its center of gravity that helps stabalize it.

I know what your refering to, but I can't recall the proper nomenclature...john bunsenburner wrote:

I will say that with my minimod gun and blowgun barrel, I can consistently hit a 6" grouping at 140ft with them...
They're normally known as diabolo pellets.
Having a centre of pressure behind the centre of mass is a simple way to ensure flight stability. However, people seem to make the mistake that stability results in accuracy on it's own.
It's true that it's very hard to have accuracy without stability, but it is quite possible to have stability without accuracy.

Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?
Think logically:prairie warrior wrote:stink bombs say what size r water ballons please not 2.5" pvc/abs i cant get that here
1-It depends on how far you fill em.
2-They are squeezable so the same balloon that can fit in a 2" can also fit in a 1 1/2".
Did someone ever used a "whistle tip"?
I've got the idea from archery.
This is a tip that you can buy in a shop.
Or build it:
Take a cap nut and file it at one side till you get a hole with sharp edges. Attach the cap nut to a small piece of pipe.
Seal the other side of the pipe and attach something that stabalize it during flight.
You get a high tone with a small pipe and a deep one with a bigger pipe.

I meant a rangefinder I could buy or preferrably MAKE on the cheap. Hence, the reference to whiners who don't know trig.
