I seen the plans for PCGUY's bolt action but i read the thread and i guess it doesnt seal too well. If i have to, i'll use o-rings to seal it up but anyways i have no idea how to make a bolt action. All i know is that i'll be using PVC pipe that's the size of the paintball and the pipe that it will slide into for the bolt action look. I need to know where to get started and how to make one and where to make the seals. Thanks.

I want to make a combustion sniper that shoots paintballs and uses a bolt action, and i looked and seen nothing on how to make a bolt action for combustion. I'm looking for help, links, plans, etc. to get me started...

Well first off what kind of combustion are you planning to make?
Ok this is most likely not going to make any sense to you but in my head it makes some sense. First off you have your barrel floating in another piece of pipe that it fits snugly but loose enough to slide, then a another piece of barrel pipe is on the other side of the larger pipe. This will leave you with your bolt action area. Cut a slit in the larger pipe for a handle that will allow you to slide the barrel back and forth and more importantly lock closed. Now because your making it combustion, dunno why, when your breach is open load the paintball but also have pre cut burst disks to put at the end of the barrel so that it seals the chamber. That way you can attain a respectable ROF. Make anything of that gibberish?

I'm gonna be using propane. I was thinking about using mapp, but nah... Probably an over/under style combustion. Whatever works best for a bolt action.

You get what I rambled?

Yeah it makes sense but it has to be sealed with o-rings good enough so that when it combusts, it wont leak or go anywhere else except for out the barrel. I dont know, im so confused and im ready to just give up cause i have no idea where to start with this thing.

Well if you make your cut for the bolt slide on an angle it will get nice and tight against the chamber inlet and if there is a small amount of grease combined with a burst disk you should be fine.

Do all the bolt actions on here use a burst disk? I dont want to use one cause theyre too loud. It doesnt really make it a sniper if its loud and a silencer might be outta the question. Maybe.

Well most bolt actions are on air powered guns so no, they don't use burst disks.

heres a idea i had on a bolt action. the bolt is pulled back ammo loaded into teh slot and pushed back in (something on the outside like a bit of pipe glued into the tee could guide the bolt and lock it in place during firing so it wont shoot out) when the gun fires the expanding gas move through the gap in the bolt shooting the ammo

So does it combust through the tee then? It seems like it would work but how would i seal it so it doesn't blow up on me?

To make it airtight, you could use a
repair coupling. The one in the link is metal but pvc ones are made as well.

Wang, I would suggest building a bolt action pneumatic sniper with a co2 setup it will be much easier to operate and more powerful.

I might do that but i'll wait until spring to make another one.
