Where do you guys find 3 and 4" pressure rated PVC? The only 4" PVC that Lowes had was the cell core stuff that isn't built to take pressure.

Is Lowes the only store around you?

Check Ace Hardware, True Value, Home Depot, etc., etc...

I've never gotten all of my parts for a build from one store.

You won't find it at any home improvement store as consumer level stores are for homeowners. Therefore they don't carry sizes a home owner or small plot farmer won't use for irrigation or domestic water.

You need to find the place contractors, city public works, etc buy their stuff. If they don't have fire hydrants in stock, you are shopping in the wrong place. You are looking for the place with a fenced yard in back in the industrial district with stacks of sewer pipe, large diameter pipe, manholes, fire hydrants, etc. Be prepared to bring a saw. They may wish to sell you a length of pipe 20 feet long. You may need to cut it on location to fit it in your truck.

In my area I use these guys. The key is Commercial Construction, not home improvement.

If they have a local yard, and your order is special order, see if you can sweet talk them into including your 1 piece in another shipment to avoid shipping charges on 1 piece. That is how I got a piece of 2.5 inch thinwall for the t shirt cannon. Delivery was under 1 week as they found an exiting shipment freight they could include it in. Tell them "No rush" and ask if "Can it be sent in another existing shipment?".
