Steel Washer Ammo (damage pics included)

Okay, so this probably isn't the most original idea for destructive ammo, but I didn't see anything too similar to it on the forums, so I thought I'd I share with you my ammo idea that has proven to be as easy to make as it is do demolish things with!

While perusing through the bolt/screw/washer section of home depot one day with some 2" pvc in hand, I noticed that certain washers had a outer diameter that fit pretty well into the pvc I had... After my initial elation, I grabbed up a handful of washers (10 to be exact) and finding myself too cheap to buy a bolt and nut to go with it, I opted to 'borrow' them from the construction site nearby my house...

My first test was shooting through a piece of 1/2" plywood... I had my gun (found here: http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/revampe ... t9690.html ) propped up on the arms of a chair since I didn't want to be the victim of unexpected recoil... and even with just my hand on the back end and other hand on the trigger, the kick made me tumble backwards... (i was crouched down, but still...). Anyhow, my projectile (with one wrapping of masking tape) went through the plywood with ease (no surprise) and kept flying. I was fortunately able to find it the next day, at which point I had the idea to affix a bright orange string to it in case for easier spotting.

With the help of two more pieces of plywood (another 1/2" and a 3/4") and some bricks and towels, I was able to give it another go, this time, in my garage. At a distance of about 15', the projectile made it nicely through all three pieces of plywood and was luckily stopped by the mass of old towels I had draped over a box.

the ammo, of course, was unharmed... which is good cuz I didn't feel like spending another $2 just for freakin' washers...

nice, though some sort of hollow lightweight tail (eg cut a CO2 cartridge in half, drill a hole though the end the same diameter as the bolt and thread it in between the last washer and the nut) would ensure it flies straight and doesn't tumble, making it useful over longer ranges.

WOW did you do that with a combustion??

OK I did the same amount of damage with a combustion once. But that was with candle wax slugs, a 5m (15ft) long barrel, and no claims about portability.

I like the big valve for venting your gun ... hmm fit another one in the barrel end, and another barrel thru a 180 degree bend in the breech end. Then you have the world's first 2-way pneumato-combustion hybrid (pressurize; shoot pneumatic style with one barrel, inject fuel, and shoot combustion style through the other barrel ... ha ha ha)

I made one of those for one of my cannons, except mine was 3/4'', and it went completely through last fall's Cabelas catalog, which is about 500 pages!

Whoa, righteous! I would try that with mine, but it's just a spry and pray, probably couldn't do much damage even with that. That's pretty awesome though, next time I build a better cannon, I'm trying that.

I wonder, if you cut those pieces of plywood in half, how many layers would it make it through?
