so i decided to try to make a "shrapnel" grenade where the shrapnel is paintballs.
it is going to be a 3" PVC pipe that is cut in four pieces on the length with a 1" pipe in the middle. i will fill the gap between with paintballs/bb's..
it works like this: i fill the pipe in the middle to 150psi thentrigger it and throw it and in about three seconds it will burst the pipe and throw the shrapnel i put in there everywhere.
the question i have it how to get the 1" pipe in the middle to burst/ let out the pressure fast from all directions after i have thrown it?
i will edit this topic with a diagram tomorrow when it is not 2 at night...
(i could use solid fuel but that is not allowed)
any typos, sorry i does not mind to read through it again just now..

Ah, you can't really leave. It's not time consuming to post every once in a while.
As for the topic at hand... I can't see a pipe shrapnel being a good thing... Maybe a paper outer wrapper?
A "high" pressure leak behind a diaphragm or burst disk causing it to rupture or push the diaphragm against a bursting point would give the timing and the blast you want, reuseable too.

well if you think a bit this is not spudding, but the members here are masters when it comes to valves and that stuff
hotwired: that is a good idea, a tiny hole letting 600psi into a cardboard pipe or something.. thanks
to everyone that are going to say that i left, it was about quitting SPUDDING and this is not spudding at all

Id use a burst disk setup instead of blowing up a pipe.
