How dose a paintball gun work?

I can't find a link,I don't have one to reverse engineer,I am sitting here with a blank piece of paper and going insane!,PLEASE somebody help me,I don't know how the co2 gets from the tank to the ball and what kind of valves and regulators they have so can someone take the time to explain it to me.Pimpman?Frogy? I NEED TO KNOW!

Hmm,yes,hmmm,I have seen this many times befor but it does not tell you how the co2 gets from the tank to the chamber and what the parts are that controls the co2.

There are different types of guns and that differ on the way co2 gets from the tank to the ball in the way of valves.

Co2 tanks are attached to the gun with a high pressure hose and a ASA. from the hose it leads to the valve. There are many different kinds of valves, so heres a link to my favorite company's valves. http://www.warpig.com/paintball/technic ... ndex.shtml
An ASA is Air System Adapter. its what u screw the Co2 tank into. so it goes:
Tank>ASA>Hose>Valve

the NPT(i think its NPT) to Paintball thread adapter is called a ASA and u can buy them on most paintball websites. and the regulator is the valve. the stronger the spring u put behind the hammer the father the hammer opens the valve, so more power. also theres something called a velocity screw which on a tippmann works by being between the valve and ball and restricking flow, the more screw that is between the valve and the ball the slower the ball will move because of less flow, if there is no screw then the power is determived entirly by how far the valve is opened.

I might get a paintball gun or I will get the co2 tank and use it for a pneumatic and possibly use it to upgrade my co2 revolver.

The ASA (air source adapter) will let you connect any Co2 tank (12 grams are not a "tank") to an air line, I believe the out on ASA's is 1/8" NPT but I'm not positive...

Normally higher end guns use Nitrogen tanks that are filled with compressed air, most of the N2 tanks screw into an ASA, but my gun has a "Max-Flo", the 1st or 2nd most expensive tank, but instead of going into an ASA, the tank has a macroline fitting built right onto it so the tank actually mounts to the gun instead of unscrewing the tank to fill it, you have to fill it from a "fill nipple".

Macroline fittings are used on most high-end guns, they adapt the gun to use "Macroline" instead of steel braided hose... Macroline is strong plastic that holds pressure over Co2's max pressure (which is over 1500psi)...

That gun is awesome!! The air tank alone is worth more than my whole gun setup. I got a question also. on my gun what does the expansion chamber do?

The expansion chamber on a Tippmann doesn't really do anything... An expansion chamber normally is just a maze of chambers (about 3 to 9 chambers) in which liquid CO2 is slowed down so It can expand into gasious co2, high end guns cant use liquid co2 in them because it will freeze and ruin the electronics...

A Tippmann can use liquid co2 fine, but I put an expansion chamber on my old Tippmann just because I like the way it balances out the gun...

You buy these things that are Fake 12 grams that have an ASA coming out of them and then you screw a big tank onto the gun... I have a Gas Blow back PPK BB\Pellet gun and I have used a fake 12 gram and my 20oz before... works great...

Lol, it's an Ion. It may seem pretty awesome, but most speedballers would strongly disagree. Mainly because the body is made of plastic and they retail for $200 so all the noobs bought them.

Don't act like you know paintball more than me, I've paintballed since about 3 and I've worked at a field as a Tech\Ref\Everything for a while and I've been a Gun Tech forever....

Although lots of noobs buy them, Pro\Semi-Pro\ and DI teams use them in the NPPL and the PSP, and I just used that gun for an example because that's my only gun that has a rail currently installed so I put my Max-Flo on....
