I really like the way fireballs look. I want to incorporate this into aerial firework shells. I want to create a sort of fire globe when the shell breaks, followed by the normal effects. I think napalm is the perfect candidate. I would just put a thin layer on the inside of the shell, but there is one small problem... Napalm burns a long time, and I don't want to hurt anybody/burn/damage anything. So, I thought maybe I could add some KNO3 to the napalm to make it burn faster... Would this work? Would it make it unstable? Would it make the process of making the napalm dangerous? Or would it just be fine?

Your thoughts are appreciated. Oh yeah, here is my concept drawing.

WTF? I am making fireworks here, not bombs! To make a pressurized shell would probably require a metal tank... and that creates shrapnel, and you should get my point by now. If I wanted to make a fireball with propane, I would just use a balloon! I am trying to create a physical fire "ball" that looks like a sphere, at least for a second...

The stuff that old mothballs are made from, napthalene, it makes a helluva fireball, unfortunately its very hard to find now days. I've been expirimenting with coffee creamer/meal powder mixtures and its makes quite nice fireballs. Another option is lampare, using keroseen (or something similar) in your shell.

At the farm this weekend my dad was filling up gatorade bottles with white gas and throwing them in the fire, They gave out a pretty good fireball.

Hmm, naphtha, now there is a good idea!! You can make it using acetone and ping-pong balls. Basically it is a solid version of napalm. You can paint it on, and let it dry. Plus, its extremely flammable!! They use it mainly in pyrotechnics to waterproof fuses.

Thanks for the inspiration!
