I built a hoverboard once. It got off the ground but there wasn't enough surface to "glide" on. I also scrapped the idea because it wasn't portable.

Sugestions? Yeah, don't.

The design criterion for watercraft and hovercraft are entirly different, so you'd be better off making the frame from scratch, as the jet ski will be relitivly heavy, have a small footprint, have a keel, and be fairly tall.

Is your skirt tubler with holes all around the bottem, (directly under neath)? Most hovercrafts ride on there skirts anyway. I had a typhone and drove it so much the skirt got rubbed through at the bottem. I seen a tv show were they, (the builders) were putting F16 cockpitts in them. These machines were awsum!

I built hovercraft about 3 years ago, it didn't work very well but I think it was a pretty good for my first try. you can check it out at http://www.instructables.com/ex/i/AABF7 ... 143E7E506/ I saw the crafts they built on junkyard wars and went out to the garage and built my own. Check out the instructables site too its pretty cool and they have some spud guns as well

If the hovercraft isn't hovering enough then make more/bigger holes. But don't do too much at a time otherwise you might have too many holes, which would be hard to undo unless you got a new skirt.

i used a 5 horse engine with 24 inch prop and an air box to push air into skirt and ruder/cable system to stere and you can by a cowaling from unaversal hovercraft or make one from foam and fiberglass
