repeater Marshmellow gun, need help.
God its been a while since I last came on. I have been busy with other projects, and realise I need some help with the latest one, a clipped, pump action rapid fire marshmallow gun. It's going to be a plunger based system. I think a picture will help explain how it works. The clip works by a method of suction. When the plunger is pushed forwards, it shoots out the marshmallow in the barrel. When the plunger is pulled back out, the suction it causes pulls another marshmallow into the barrel, ready to fire again. What I currently need is criticism's/ideas to improve it, as I am not currently sure whether the setup will work. Thanks everybody.

Your design looks alright except for you loading mechanism. Pulling the plunger most likely won't pull another marshmallow. You could ensure a marshmallow feeds by making it gravity fed or by using a spring, but there will probably be multiple shots.
I would consider attatching a tube to your plunger that fits inside your barrel. If you do this when you push the plunger forward it will also push the marshmallow forward while blocking off the clip so you wont double feed. If you do this you would need to make your clip gravity or spring fed.

Yeah as has been said, the suction wont pull a marshmellow out the clip.
You could have it gravity or spring fed, and the marshmellwos are blocked from the barrel by a cover between the magazine and the barrel. When you pump the gun, the cover is moved back and forward, allowing a marshmallow to fall into place. You could probably do this with a rod connecting the pump and the cover.

A magazine, not a clip. A clip is a loading aid.
That magazine will not feed at all as the friction will be higher than the pressure differential, or there will be no seal if it is too loose. Gravity feeding it (with a fairly loose fit between the ammo/magazine) or a soft spring is definitely the way to go.
I'd also avoid the manual plunger. You'll get much more satisfying performance with a spring.

So, basically i will need to make the clip on top of the gun, so that gravity will help feed, rather than hanging down on the bottom. I can see how that would help. By the way Inon, I origionally planned for the gun to have a spring to power it, but i live in Aus, and there are no hardware stores stocking good springs near where I live, which sucks.

I've been spec'ing springs from the internet for a while. Your best bet is decide the OD and approximate length you need and then buy a bunch of different springs of varying spring rates. luckily small springs are inexpensive.
Also, God help you if you chop a marshmallow. I abhor the flavor of them, but IIRC they are sticky as hell on the inside. Mash one in your magazine and you'll be spending the afternoon washing it out with hot water.

If your plunger actually did suck any marshmallows in, (which I doubt it will but I don't know for sure) it would probably just suck a clump of them in at once, rather than just one.

well you can use an inline magazine, like this
you need to get the right sized pipes for it to work, I would try 1/2"pvc and 1/2" cpvc, I don't know how well it will work it might just rip the marshmallows and become sticky, it also may require you to make consistent pump strokes
