pretty much sums it up... me and friend were heading to the mall to watch jackass number 2, he just got a new car, and was bragging out his ying yang bout how it would smoke my truck (his last car was slower than my truck) So were heading down the highway, we come to a red light, of course its on, we sat there for about 2 seconds before the green light lit up, we both floor it, he takes me at the line (duh) but when he hits second gear im still in first and pass him, he is beside me, the front of his car is around my back door (four door, so its a few feet back) at around 65-70 we come to a curve, so i let off and hit the brakes, he dosent and passes me, gets infront of me and then slows down. The mall is right there so we pull in the back entrance, as we do i notice a car haulin' ass coming up behind me, thats when i knew it was a cop and we were screwed. He puts on his lights and we just stop where we are on the mall road, he pulls up infront of my friend and stops, in about 4.325 seconds there are 2 more squad cars one behind me, and one with the nose towards both of us. were instructed to throw our keys on our windsheild, we do he takes my friends license and insurance and what not, then comes to me and asked if i knew that we could go to jail for racing, I said, "i did not know that", no sarcasm, no attitude, nothing. he takes my info and stuff, goes talks to another cop, comes back and tells me to get out and place my hands on my truck. were both cuffed and placed in the same car. we go to jail and spend the night there, at first apperence were both released on R.O.R., Relase on Recognizance. $275 to get our vehicles outta the impound. His car is a 01 Honda Prelude, pearl white w/ carbon fiber hood, cold air intake, some rims/tires, looks lowered a couple of inches, not sure, and exuhast, its a v-tec i forgot the size, im thinking its 2.2, 5-speed.
Pretty much this sucks. court is tomorrow 9am, my friend is in the military, just got out of boot camp, this was his time back home, he is inow in virgina where he is stationed, his commanding officer told him that he will not receive punishment till after the court date, his punishment in the military is pending on his punishment in the courts, his commanding officer also wrote some letter stating that he will not be able to attend court till december something, when he gets back from virgina.
1st offense drag racing max punishment is 1-year in jail, $1000 fine. 316.191
This is the first thing on my record, if the judge looks at my history he will find nothing but 1 speeding warning, 2 speeding tickets, 1 stereo ticket, and 1 ticket for not having proof of insurance (I was pulled over for speeding lol)
so im hoping It wont be harsh....im still dreading waking up tomorrow. This judge is a real A-hole, google "Judge Ric Howard citrus county" and you will see... he gave a 17 year old 30 years in prision.
Not saying what he did was wrong, but .....idk
im still debating pleading guilty or not guilty....ill give report when i get back from court...that is if im not in jail.
The Affidavit states that "On 10 11 06 at approximately 2142 hours, myself and sergeant hay were in the .....when we HEARD revving engines and squealing tires coming from the area of u s highway 19 and citrus avenue. At that time , we observed a green cheverolet pick-up truck and a white honda prelude traveling side by side at accelerated speeds in an obvious attempt to out distance or out run the other vechicle..."

in the upcoming presidential election, there will be several candidates who will be running, one of whom is Hillary Clinton. Now WAIT A SECOND!!! I though there was some sort of rule that prevented someone from serving more than two terms in office. Vote Against Hillary: Presidential Elections 08

Your cops are assholes to? Wow, what a coincidence, mine are to. [Considering a friend and I were once cuffed and sat on a curb for about a hour freezing our asses off while they questioned us if we knew the seriousness of the issue, and if we wanted to go to DT. Wanna know what it was over? Lighting firecrackers (illegal here). I dont know if the fact that my friend was black had to do with anything, but either way it was gay as hell]
Hope you well in court. Id suggest that you play it all 'sorry' and everything. All people that are in criminal justice seem to be there seeking some degree of control, while hiding behind the claim that there doing it for the community. You defiantly want to plead guilty. Again I hope the best.

You were speeding, were you not? You were also racing, correct? How are cops the assholes? Speeding, racing, both illegal. The cops job is to make sure that kids like you, don't kill yourselves or other people. I am in NO MEANS saying I am an angel when it comes to driving or anything else, I am not saying I am better than you in any way, I just can't justify how the cops are assholes. I don't like them just as much as you don't, and I realise there might be times like if you were doing 2 over the speed limit and got pulled over..That's BS. But racing and speeding are fairly serious.

Me and a friend got pulled over for illegal street racing with no lisence,insurance,70km/h over the speed limit. And he let us off!We said we were going to get a friend who as getting bashed by some people down at our hang spot and he needed our help.He said aslong as its a good cause and he lut us GO!But all he did was take our phone numbers n call our parents and then i realised who he was.He was the father of one of ym friends form ym football team so he jus gave it the old blind eye.
But seriously those laws seem way outa wack.A fine would be sufficent in my eyes but then again...Some old people or "sensible"people dis-like this way of living, and they happen to make laws...Good luck..I would pleed guilty and try n get off with some community services and a fine etc.Much better then having a huge piece of ur life taken from bwing crammed in a small place with alot of men that havent had a girl in about 20 years.

well the judge seemed cool at first, but some dude saw him before me for illegal street racing, and the judges attitude changed real damn quick, and the evidence against me will not hold up to the burdon of truth.

I'd have to agree with the police, what if some little kid chased his ball into the street? Your adrenalin would've been pumping, and you wouldn't have been able to swerve around him. I feel sorry for you, that sucks, but it was very dangerous to be racing.
thats pretty bad i hope you dnt go to gaol because you'd probably get raped to death.
Poo.

That really sucks.
Though I have to agree with some people above, The cops are just doing their job. If I was a cop I would have pulled you over too(no offence intended).
Personally I think you shouldn't get jailtime, though. A fine would be more reasonable.
Btw, it would have made you look better if you hadn't mentioned you were going to go see jackass #2
