I built this for my best friend. not a single sent spent.

It, believe it or not, goes 60.

It has a speedometer.

the frame is from the 70's-80's

totally custom, uses a dirtbike front end, has a 4 hp kohler probably pushing 6 hp.

I'm giving it to him because he lives in a subdivision near me, and he can ride it to my house this summer, and hey, since I have a dirtbike, I dont really have a use for this sucker.

I got the engine (from 1970-somthing) from my grandpa, who had it in a cabinet in his garage, with the factory plastic wrap still on it.

put gas and oil in, and it ran first pull.

I have been assembling it, and fabricating in my spare time, every one and a while, in preparation for this spring, when we will take it to his house. I did the upholstery, too.

the clutch, which I accidentally broke the drum off, (centrifugal clutch), was professionally welded by one of my mom's friends, who runs a welding shop.

had other stuff, because behind my barn, i have a little motor vehicle junkyard of my own.

me and my friend know someone who runs a car customization shop, and he's gonna paint and bondo the tins (tank, fenders, etc.) for us.

this is how I got it in the first place:

last summer, I rode a bike my other friend had put an electric scooter motor on, and it was fun, so Immediately started looking for a frame i could build up.

well, about three days later, i turned this up.

it had almost everything, but a shorter pair of forks and different front tire, no engine, clutch, or handlebars.

so I got the bars form a salvage yard for $10, after buying the frame for $60.

I got the clutch for $25 new.

then, after a summer of riding, a shaft inside this Little gearbox that was on there snapped, and the gears seized up, and then rounded off.

I pushed it behind the barn, and put it under a tarp in late summer, after receiving my dirtbike.

so, a couple weeks ago, I pushed it back in, and flipped the engine around, flipped the air filter around to make it fit, replaced the spark plug, and re did the chain, and rear break, etc.

now I'm giving it away. :D

well, here's it originally.

then here's it when I got it running...

then here it is in the finished phase... well, finished for now.

it's still going to my friend, but It's got a headlight, all wired, a paint job, chain guard, new brake pedal, thicker spring on the rear drum, and some other stuff. oh, and we narrowed the handlebars by half, they look soooo much better now.

OK, suggestion. Use pics with smaller file sizes please, I have DSL and they are still taking forever to load. I can't finish reading a sentence before a pic loads and moves the page and I have to find where I was. Just be a kind sir and try to keep the bytes a lil smaller.

Tell the pancake bunny to upgrade your connection, I've got 2mb cable and I didn't have any speed problem loading the pictures :P

The bike looks amazing, I'd love to have something like that :)

thanks. :D

ShowNoMercy, I agree there can always be improvements, but the way you say things make you come across a being sort of...eh.... an a**.

no offense, but just about every recent topic I've made has has a comment by you, but was negative, or was ment to knock me down.

as your still a noob, I think that people would respect you more If you showed some respect.

(again, no offense)

I could care less what people thought of me and furthermore, I really dont care what "status" I am. I tell it how it is and thats it. No personal offense is meant to be made.

ok. well, I just thought I'd let you know.

as long as "no personal offense" is meant to be made, it's just fine.

it's all good.

Well of course it could be better, he hasn't mounted a .30 LMG on it yet. Everybody knows all the cool kids have LMGs.

It needs a big dorky banana seat and some streamers :P

Nah jk. Very awesome for almost no money. It must be a little scary going 60 on something that small and light.
Mount a bbmg on the handlebars or something. (edit: ^^^LMG=light machine gun??)

BBMG? Psh... Nothing smaller than a .30 is acceptable. But really, a mounted BBMG or something would be awesome.

.....

And you should put glass packs on it.

Wow schmanman you have done it again. That is a pretty sick bike, especially for not spending a penny on it. I just wish I had all the resources you have. You seem to know a lot of people that get you supplies and stuff real cheap or free. There's not even a junkyard within 50 miles of my house  . But great job on it it looks awesome.
