Hi all i am in the process of getting an A class firearms license and i was wondering how legal the Crossman Nightstalker would be.
A semi auto air rifle on CO2.I have been searching myself so m not just trying to mooch.

im not sure you will be able to get a gun in from over sea's since you need a permit to aquire and all and if its semi auto and im guessing you are under 18 your hopes aint looking to good.

I don't think you will be able to get a semi-auto in to Aus without a Primary Producer License and even then it is near impossible to prove that you need a semi-auto.

call the cops and ask mate, your gonna have to talk to them sooner or later.

Oh yeah, since your under 18 you will be getting a minors licence which meens you cant own a gun but you are licenced to use one which would meen your parents would have to get a licence aswell unless you know someone who already has a gun licence. its nearly impossible to get a gun of anykind in Aus under 18. Except potato guns

yeah that is what pizzes me off about Australia sure we have a really low murder rate(with guns) but there is no fuggin fun in this country.(with guns)

Yer sooo... if you still need your answer call your local police station, and im sure they will have no problem in answering your questions, its really the only way to find out, i have had the same problems when finding out if i could get my pneumatic registered.

there is some doubt as to whether this actually qualifies as a "semi-auto", it's a repeater definitely because it fires once for every trigger pull, but the blowback action doesn't actually turn the magazine, as far as I know it only re-cocks the hammer spring.

ok a semi auto air rifle is still clasified as a Class A weapon in australia, air weapons are either clasified as class A or H (A for rifles, H for pistols), but you must give the Firearms Registrar the necessary documentation to support your genuine reason for using or possessing a firearm of that category. For example, if your genuine reason is sport or target shooting, you must produce evidence of current membership of an approved shooting organisation that conducts competitions or activities involving the use of this type of firearm.

then you need a 'permit to aquire', from memmory you need the name of dealer your name , and reason for firearm.

when the firearm arives in australia you will recieve a letter from customs that they are holding a firearm for you and you can pick it up provided you suply the appropriate information, licence and permit to aquire.

another problem is that the air rifle will have to be stored at the house of the person who has the permit for it as the police will come around every so often, every 2 years or so, as well as soon after the purchace to ensure that it is kept in a properly installed safe.

if you are not sure of anythink i would recommend that you call your states firearm registry. i dont know the numbers for all of them but the N.S.W one is 1300 362 562. they will tell you everythink you need to know.

Wait, I'm not from AU, but shouldn't there be fewer restrictions on air rifles than gunpowder ones? Around here people my age can own air rifles, but you have to be 18 to buy shotguns and rifles, and 21 for pistols.

I have one of those, Its alright, I get Jams too often, 1 out of 5 clips will jam on me.

you would think that air rifles would be unrestricted in australia but they are classified as a Class A firearm ( air rifles, rimfire rifles (single shot), shotgun (single shot). hell BB guns are totally illegal here, you cant even get a licence for them. but that is slowly changing, FINNALY i think you can licence them in queensland.[/quote]
