Quick Silver
<div align="center">QUICK SILVER
This rifle is our first and was constructed from:
3/4" x 24" barrel (top 6" has holes drilled in it all over)
1 1/2" x a total of 30" tank space (tank goes into the handle where the "direct fill" connects to the air compressor hose.)
140psi = 31057.74lbs of Force.
(original parts were painted silver.)
this rifle uses paintballs only,, but the 140psi is a bit much to play with.
***Poorman's Breech***
The Poorman's Breech is nothing more than a piece of pvc the SAME SIZE of the barrel cut to about 1 or 2" long and then taking a sanding bit for a dremel and grinding the inside of the pvc piece till it slides over the barrel (not too tight or loose tho) once your "breech" is able to slide over your barrel you take a dremel and drill 5 holes in your spudguns barrel about 1/4" infront of your valve on your barrel. (3 in straight line 1 on either side of middle 1) now connect the 5 holes with your sanding bit and round it to a circle big enough to fit your ammo in.
slide breech forward, load ammo, slide back back over loading hole
& FIRE! (loss of some air but could be made air tight easily)
***Please READ ALL Of This Section Before Making Your Own Silencer.***
the top 6" of the barrel (where the holes are drilled) has a homemade silencer on it which consists of:
Two 1 1/4" end caps (both with holes dremeled (sand paper bit works best) into them the size of the gun barrel.
***FIRST*** slide the tightest fitting dremeled end cap onto your gun!!!
(not a fun mistake)
take an old foam pillow or any other kind of thick sound muffling fabric. (foam is all i have tried.)
cut your foam pillow to 6 1/4" long by the length it takes to wrap around your gun barrel once (twice if you think your macho) now take 3 pieces of electral tape or other strong tape and tape your foam pillow extremely tight around the barrel.
Once you have your foam taped on (not too thick) slide your 1 1/4" 6" pvc pipe piece over your foam area and attack it to the end cap. now slide your top end cap on and make sure they are tightly fit together or glued if you choose.
make sure you slide your silencer down your barrel till about 1/8" of barrel is sticking out past your silencer. (no holes in top 1/8")

nah no piston valve, i havent quite got the concept of those yet all i have been using are ball valves. and that tee has a psi rating of 220 (was marked on the side) cant remeber where that part came from but it was the only reason why i used it.

i dont think that would work. It wouldnt be able to trap the sound if it did not have ends. The ends catch the sound and trap it so the sound waves bounce inside and each time the go through the foam they get weaker.
My mommy says im special.

The purpose of a silencer is to absorb the sound of the explosion. And if you have something such as foam or insalation that has alot air in it but not just air the sound will decipate in the foam and catch on the foam. You dont have to use pipes and end caps you can use anything that is solid to go around it and doesnt compress what ever material your using because it wont have as much "airiness". Hopefully that makes sense. Like the strong bad!

Would it be easier to take a 3/4" coupling and file off the part inside that stops the two pipes from going through. rather than file a whole piece of 3/4" pipe? ( for the breech) And there are also plans for a good silencer at http://www.advancedspuds.com
Your hands can't hit what your eyes can't see, float like a butterfly sting like a bee. *Ali*
It would be way easier to file the inside of a coupling. Sorry to say it but common sense could of easy answered the question. Thanks for the link it will proably help other people out but ive already seen the plans.
