I screwed up! :-(

I just drilled a hole through the double layer of my 3" chamber and endcap, except it is just a weee bit too big to screw in the quick disconnect I got.

Would it be ok if I took JB weld, or epoxy, slathered it on the inside of where I drilled, and put some on my quick disconnect, and threaded that in?

any chance of finding the same fitting, but with larger threads?

for instance, go from a 1/4 to 3/8?

Would that solve it?

Do they make 3/8" quick disconnects? I have a 1/4 right now

just buy a adapter from 1/4" to 3/8" (don't know what they are called on english)

So do I, but I also got a 3/8" and a 1/2" one, so yes.

I am still curious though about JB weld and epoxy holding strength

I can buy quick connects in sizes up to 1"

, rated for 3000 psi in my local auto parts store, so yes, they are very available in any reasonable size.

In your case, why don't you just plumb in an adapter? Quick connects in larger sizes get rather costly.

Life can be simple sometimes.
As for the JB weld: That would be, as I believe the English say, bodging.

great lifesaver if all other options are off.
You won;t need it in this case however.

Hmmm ok, hopefully I can stop at Lowes this weekend and pickup what I need, as for now my cannon is out of commision then.

In Canada at least, this part is known as a "bushing".

I think an adapter is a a male to male, and a bushing is male to female. not sure though. this is just the idea I got from shopping a lot in the home depot copper department.

I think a male adapter is a slip x male, a bushing is female x male, a coupler is female x female, and a pipe nipple is male x male.

I screwed up! :-(
