Ball valve breech load
Hey guys, i havent posted here in a while, but i am once again into making another spud gun, well a bb gun. I am trying to make a breech loading for my new bb gun that I am going to make. I already have the barrel and I am going to pick up my 1/4" QEV soon. I just need help on making the breech loading. I've seen a breech loading gun that used a ball valve and i want to create one just like that. I already have a 1/4" ball valve and I want to know where i need to drill to allow me to make it breech loading. I have tried searching, but i haven't been able to find a thread on where to drill on the ball valve. Thanks.
with a Qev setup like yours you could do a pretty east semi-auto blow forward breech.

Are you using the same ball valve for breech loading and releasing chamber pressure? If so i'm not so sure anyone's done that- and if they have they'd have to open the valve really quick for it to work properly. But either way, if you just wanted to use the valve for loading in a bb then you turn the valve to the CLOSED position, so that the opening in the valve is faced towards the wall of the valve housing. Then drill your hole approximately in the center of either side of the valve housing. that way you will not drill a hole into the actual "ball" inside because there is already a large hole through it, and you will make a hole just through the housing for your bb to get into the ball. After loading in a bb, once you turn your valve to the OPEN position the ball will seal the hole in the housing so that you have no air leaks. I wouldn't recommend using the same ball valve for releasing that you do for breech loading. But it sounds like you are using a QEV for the actuation valve and a ball valve just for the breech loading which would make for a nicely operationg gun.

I did it with one of my cannons, all you have to do is drill a hole 90 degrees from the handle, Where the black circle is in the picture. Just make sure that when you drill the hole you have the valve in a closed position, otherwise you will drill through part of the "ball" on the inside, which isn't good.

It's hard to soar with eagles when you're working with turkeys.
Also if these are metal bb's you're gonna use i recommend using magnets glued to the valve so they don't roll around once you load them, but you probably already knew that

This was what i was basically asking for but i think its gonna be kinda hard since my ball valve is small. Its an 1/4" ballvalve. W/e, imma go try it out right now.
