D4 - French air cannon - caliber 12mm
Hi
Here is my air cannon : The D4.
Le longest thing to do was the wooden corpse
Total length : 1m95
Weight : 10Kg
Caliber : 12mm
Pressure : 11 Bars / 160 psi
Autonomie : 4 powerfull shots
Power (J)] = ?? ( i'm waiting for a chrony )
It fits well handed, and it's very accurate
The full gun
Ammo : Steel rounds
How it works
The firing system ( I like the black part, it looks like oldshool guns with a "percutor(dunno how to say it in nglish :p)"
Damage pics !
And the video
http://www.dailymotion.com/swf/x8r10h_p ... e-d4_sport
Incomming
Mounting a 4x32 scope
Make a loader, i'll be ready to fire 1time per second !
Waiting for your advices, sorry for my english, and greetz for France

I think you mean "stock"Xtazz wrote:The longest thing to do was the wooden corpse
Nice looking launcher, I'm guessing it's a blowgun actuated QEV?
I'm assuming he used a translator and was trying to get something like body.jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:I think you mean "stock"Xtazz wrote:The longest thing to do was the wooden corpse

But very nice, the stock isn't to bad either.

I love your attempt at English translation.. Welcome to Spudfiles.
Great looking cannon. There's lots of detail work here. The tanks and critical parts are neatly placed. The wooden stock is a nice addition to an already well done cannon.
There's another well done French cannon. Any possibility of a shooting and/or damage video?

That is absolutely stunning! The french certainly know how to make an aesthetically pleasing and ergonomic pneumatics! I think I've only seen works of art out of you guys.
I can see the top of a QEV there, so yeah it's a blowgun triggered QEV.
Is it easy to hold and fire at the same time. I have a 120cm cannon like yours, but it is difficult to hold and aim because it is heavy. 10kg is a lot!
Just gonna help you tidy you're english - it's better than some native speakers around here!
It fits well handed: "It's very ergonomic"
OR "it's very easy to hold"
Percutor: I think from the context you're using it in means "trigger"

placé en une manière ordonnée... something like thatXtazz wrote:I don't understand "neatly placed"
Sorry, missed the video post.
Neatly placed....well configured, well designed, everything in its proper place.
Edit: Just watched the video. Really impressive gun operation, smooth loading. I think you can run at a somewhat higher psi than you are shooting now.

Thanks a lot, althrough i don't understand all
Thanks Biopyro
For my "percutor", no it's not the trigger, i mean this part
In France it's named "le chien" = "the dog" . When it's activated, it hits the round of real guns
"placé en une manière ordonnée" <<== Oh yeah I see [/img]

In English that would be either the "hammer" or the "striker"Xtazz wrote:In France it's named "le chien" = "the dog" . When it's activated, it hits the round of real guns
Aha - the hammer. percutor from english percussion, because it hits the primer in the round.
Can yours be pulled back, to click forward when the gun is fired?
I looked at the french forum. There are even more fantastic guns on there. So clean and advanced!
Edit: damn people are posting quickly in here!

No, mine don't works, it's just a fixed part of the blowgun, but it gives the look of a Hammer.

Come to think of it, there is such a thing as a "dog lock" in early firearms...

Just saw the video, lol at the phantom dog.
Also, your projectiles would work better if the tail was hollow, as they are they will just tumble without the benefit of rifling.
