i am pretty new to pneumatic guns. i have made one with a ball valve and two with moded sprinkler valves. i would like to make a piston valve using a 1.5 inch T but after readng countless posts i still dont know what ppl use as the piston to get a good seal or what other parts are used. has anyone out there made one with a 1.5 inch T?...if so what parts did you use to make it and does anyone have some pics of constructing one. thanks

This may help a little; I'm not sure. To figure out what parts you need you really just have to play around with it and see what works.

thanks for the response but i really have no idea how to go about making one. i guessing that one of these would really increase the velocity on one of my guns because it looks like a lot mor air can get through faster

here is my design which uses a 2 inch tee, which I recommend, you could just go a size smaller for everything, the only problem would be the piston, I'm not sure if a 1 inch coupler fits in a 1.5" pipe. If you really want to make it in a 1.5 inch tee you might have to make your own piston out of wood or another material, for a sealing face use neoprene rubber.

so that "sealing face" in ur design is some neoprene? and that actually seals it?

Well when I made my piston, I used a rubber tile, it works great, the important thing to remember is getting the thing the piston seals against cut square and sanded smooth.

how much of an increase if any do u think this adds to velocity of the projectile vs. a moded sprinkler valve?

Its a pretty big difference, it has way larger opening, and piston valves can have much higher porting.

but how does air get behind the piston to force it shut against the barrel?

You fill from the pilot side, that forces the piston shut, then air escapes around the sides.

so it goes in the piolet side forces the piston shut then air goes around and fill the chamber? then i guessing u have a blowgun valve on the piolet side that releses pressure from behind the piston making it drop back and the chamber air escapes out the barrel
