I am trying to go from 6" to 2" and bought some reducers from Menards that I now think will not work. The 6"to 4" has this on it
6007 ABS Black AST 2751 607 styrene ASTM 2852 6P07 PVC White ASTM 3033 % 3034

Will this be to thin and weak for a gun that will shoot 2 lb pumpkins? I could not find one that had the Sch 40 or other pressure tested ratings. The end cap I found is Sch40 and the rest of the small fittings.

Thanks Dan

fittings above 2inch at stores like menards are DWV. witch means that they are not meant for pressure. these places usualy stock 1 1/4 , 1 1/2, and 2in fittings in pressure rated AND DWV. so be careful. i suggest ordering off www.savko.com they will have the parts you need

If you keep the pressure reasonable for preventing breakage on launch of 2 lb pumpkins, Sched 40 Cellular Core ABS does very well, even though it is not pressure rated. I built a test cannon out of ABS just to test the durability of the stuff. It is a 4 inch chamber with a coaxial 2 inch barrel. It gets pressure tested every year. This the the only year that it has not been fired, simply because I have a better replacement. This years pressure test can be seen in the thread on the cannon.

I use 2 inch and 4 inch ABS for barrels on my 2 inch valve QDV cannon.

I have not pressure tested 6 inch ABS. I can't verify it will hold up. In any case, hydrostatic test it.

I would go for sch. 40 just because it is safer, but you might have to order it online.
