I dropped my qev while working on it and it had the ball valve screwed into it and it broke leaving the threads in the qev and now i have no clue how to get it out. Do i need to buy a new one?

No you do not need a new one. You need to get a tool called a easy out. What it does is tap itself into the broken fitting and after you do that you put a wrench on the other end and turn it out. They cost like 5 dollars. Edit jack beat me to it thats what they look like above.

Easy Outs suck! Try wedging a chisel or flat screw driver in there and back it out. Easy Outs have a tendency to break off in the hole then your really stuck.
I can't count the amount of times I've been brought a part with a busted easy out in a broken off bolt. The main cause is not drilling the hole in the center of the broken bolt. Even done correctly they can break off rather easy cause more problem then you started with.
The only thing you have going for you is that there is all ready a hole there, and it is centered.

I've all ways had better luck with this style, just don't drive them in to far and stretch out and jam/peen the broken bolt/object and make things harder on yourself...

Yes go find Superman and have him shoot it out with his laser beam eyes!! Just playin however that will be hard to do without a easyout cuz you will damage the threads on your qev. Seriously they are 5 bucks for a whole set and they will last you a long time if used properly. Definatly a good inexpensive investment!!!

So what kind of tools do you have if you can't afford a 5$ extractor? Its a must have anyways.
If I were you and didn't have the extractor set I'd use my dremel cut off disc to make some slots in the broken off piece, jam a piece of metal in the slots and rotate it.
If that does't work you might as well put it under your pillow and hope tooth fairy pulls it out

Hammer a screw driver in then unscrew it.

I dont have a chisel or a screw driver big enough to wedge in there. I can afford a extractor i just prefer to not spend the money on one
