Pneumatic piston?
Has anyone tried making a piston that pushes when pressurized and retracts when the pressure is relieved? I was thinking of integrating one into my gun, but i want to know the practicality of it before spending (more) money on making one.

You can find cheap ones from ebay, or local scrap metal yards that sell all kinds of stuff.. I have many cylinders that i bought at about 2-5euros each.
From what you have described I would think that you should look for single acting cylinders.. opens with pressure and returns with spring.

Check eBay of course, but these guys sell them pretty cheap.
