First Pneumatic made by me and integral
integral and I decided to build this on our holidays we made it from pvc and used a sprinkler valve (not your average one, it had a guide rod but didn't prove to be a problem. We added in a breech and we still yet to make it look pretty, paint etc, but it fires sweet as.
edit: Specs + added more damage pics
Specs
-barrel: 1000mm x 20mm ID (probs a little longer with that coupling in there for the breech
-chamber: 500mm x 50mm ID
-two 90 deg elbows 25mm
-two 45 deg elbows 25mm
-some 25mm pipe inbetween barrel and chamber
-sprinkler valve
-plus some other stuff like tire valve, bushings/couplings, etc
Here are the images:
This is before pieces were not completely cut and not assembled:
Close up on sprinkler valve:
Close up on tire valve:
Modded sprinkler with solenoid still in we didnt have any eproxy to fill it with so we are just living it in until we get some:
These pics are assembled but not welded together:
These are welded and closes ups on breech etc:
-------------------------------------------
Damage video and some pics
First test shot at 50psi using a piece of newpaper bound into a cylinder as a round:

Here are some pics of shotting a empty deo can at 90-100psi with a AA battery.
Theses are shootin a half full deo can at 100 psi
And this is a low res vid of it:
This Friday setting up my proper vid cam and making a good video so sit tight
Any comments on improvements etc would be very welcome

Nice effort.
To calculate velocity there's a very simple homemade chrony you can conjure up, either that or you can buy yourself a cheap chrony for less that $100.

i live in australia too and like if you live in sydney and u travel on the m2 or a highway like that they have these signs you drive past which tells you your cars speed. you should just go up to one of those and fire your spud gun past it. When there arent cars going past i.e. 2am on a Monday.

Hey man I live in Tassie, where did u get the tire valve from, i've checked ebay and all the shops and can't find one, could you salvage one from a bike tire tube, and how much would i expect to pay for the blowgun?
Cheers.
P.S....... The button on your shorts is un-done. hauhauhaha. PEACE!

anything mentioned here for a 3/4" barrel should fit pretty nicely in a 20mm barrel, try marbles and CO2 cartridges, and if there's a clay pigeon shooting range nearby you might want to see if you can scrounge any 12 gauge shotgun slugs.medic wrote:Hey just wondering if anyone has any good ideas for rounds for a 20mm barrel

youd probably have no luck there with that, clay shooters dont use solid slugs, jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:anything mentioned here for a 3/4" barrel should fit pretty nicely in a 20mm barrel, try marbles and CO2 cartridges, and if there's a clay pigeon shooting range nearby you might want to see if you can scrounge any 12 gauge shotgun slugs.medic wrote:Hey just wondering if anyone has any good ideas for rounds for a 20mm barrel
but having said that you can buy them pretty cheap i think and/or buy some lead sinkers they work a charm .
