As I explained in the edited top post, the air is returning past the piston and coming out of the qev. I'm trying to seal it with duct tape but not much luck with it.

Maybe your piston is too heavy and or getting stuck in the pipe and air has an easier flow path around it?

The piston is light considering it is 3" in diameter, and yes obviously air is leaking around the piston, but what can I use to seal it? I'm going to try some duct tape once my roommate gets home (unscrewing it is a 2 person job.)

Anyone know where I can get 3" O-rings?

Just get some rubber sheets and cut it out.

I have a sheet of neoprine, but it will be extremely tough to get it perfectly round.

If someone knows where i can get large O-Rings, PLEASE tell me!

I'll get some calipers and figure out what size I need. Thanks Killjoy and redneck, I didn't know they carried O-rings but what don't they have?
