Anyway, If your shooting a bb or a small pellet i would go Heavy duty Blowgun or Piston valve.

Yeah mine is going to be an all metal piston valve gun with a attatched 360psi shock pump but it might be hard Rhys if your new to spudding to make a piston valve. Small valves are pretty tricky to make, makes it even more tricky if your want to use high pressure due to leaks.

But the only way you get better, is if you give it a go. So by all means go for it, I'll be here if ya need any help. My gun should be up and running pretty soon so I'll post it straight away.

I'm in the process of making a piston valve as well using dowel rod.
It's to shoot Custom Built pellets.

Sounds good. What psi you going to be running?

100psi maybe more.
I actually have a psi limit, because I mainly do my shooting indoors and the fact that there is a crapload of hazards around my house and it's really easy to see into my house from the road. And 100psi is probably pushing that limit.
Can't wait to take it to a farm though.

100psi in such a small bore doesn't work too well. Small bore guns need alot of pressure to get any good results at all but I used to fire my old bb gun at 110psi because it was through a sprinker valve and it used to go through 10mm MDF board and rips cans pretty easy so if thats what your after, then be my guest and have fun .

well i will be using a relatively small chamber to get higher pressures.
SO i will be able to pump it up quite high without anyone noticing as much.

Well to rifle it, I would have straight up gone lathe.But not many people have access to this (including me) so just use a drill(but keep it steady).
i don't know if those ideas actually and i don't think they would.

You best bet would be making a ghetto hop-up for increased accuracy instead of rifling.

It depends on what your shooting, If your shooting metal bb's it will broke away over time.

i think i will use plastic bbs there easy to get (not really) but hey there easier to get than metal bbs.
if i can get to bunnings today i will have pics in 2 days tiome when i am done painting and testing it.

can one of you explain to me what a "hop-up" is and how to make one?

Hop-up exerts a little backspin on the bb by pushing down on it as it moves forward. The backspin then causes the bb to be pushed 'up' in flight due to air pressure difference. It works by pushing down on it as it is shot, so a tiny piece of rubber above and just in front of your bb will work, as rubber can bend slightly as it is pushed out of the way. Also, you will need to adjust it, so it doesn't put too much backspin(they float too far up) or too little(they fall too quickly after traveling a certain distance).
