One little question, hwo exactly is the QEV piloted? I see how the pop of valves work but i dotn understand how the QEV is piloted and how it improves anything i.e. wouldnt this work better with a coax and the pop of at the end of the barrel?
Jeezz...he was pretty clear on the subject.

Let me try:

Thanks! I'm glad you guys like it :)

So am I every time I twist open that valve. :D
Davidvaini wrote:EDIT: I'm downloading audacity to figure out the ROF with that fire extinguisher.
I have a little surprise for you: That ROF wasnt max ROF. The valve was about half open and the tank was on about half the max pressure.
Though at some point the valve will go farting instead of making true cycles.

I explained it in the video, but I'll explain again for you:
Air goes into gun -> pressure goes up
Pressure goes above popping pressure -> popoff valve opens
Popoff valve vents air to the atmosphere (fast!), pilotting the QEV -> QEV fires
Pressure drops -> popoff closes
gun gets refilled
POLAND_SPUD wrote:I hope you realize that implementing a blowforward bolt is going to be a pain in the ass.. you might try my vertibolt design (if you don't mind buying an air cylinder and if it will work here) or just find a way to minimize flow restrictions cased by the bolt
Access to a machine shop. I has dat too. ;)

Oh and you guys should see that vapor cloud when going full auto from the fire extinguisher (the FE is now called tnak btw). I will pay special attention to that when recording the video tomorrow.

Really great experiment and presentation psycix. That's simple to implement, but yet very effective.

Now the blow forward loader....

Holy shit dude!
Looking very good, good luck with getting the blow-forward to work, I'm sure you'll manage it.

Dakka dakka FTW!

Personally, I still think this is a better idea in terms of efficiency, but you have a fridge compressor, what do you care :D

Funniest video in quite a while!!!

You are a bit of a sadist though....

I wonder if just shooting air at a living person would be against the rules..

If so...you just broke them....well....about...200 times??

If you try and beat this again JSR,... I'll join forces with Psy and we'll put his exhaust system on Porter...

And then we'll really scare his brother.... :D

Working on a new pop-off as we speak, with some changes, smaller chamber porting and piston and coil as opposed to air spring.

3rd video online!
Clicky clicky!

This time I show how long it can run on the FE tnak. (<- no typo )
Also the maximum ROF is tested out.

Naahhh, its just a pneumatic noisemaker.
Besides he was more dead then alive until I came in anyway.
BTB wrote:I'll join forces with Psy and we'll put his exhaust system on Porter...
We'd need a few tnakvlagwraggels for that.

I've got plenty tnakwragleggeldragwaggels over here

( just playing, we made a lot of incomprehencable typo's on messenger yesterday)

The qev+ pop-off thing has been done a few times before....but the mayor improvement comes from the 30 bars of free air stored in that
TNAK...( the tanks' name)

I wish I had never sold it to you!! :D
No I don't..you've given SF something for their money now!
You've certainly gone up a few ranks now.
I dub thee: Dutch Spud Clan Psycho...

I honestly never expected this to become such a succes.
It was more like: "ahh just for the heck of it I'm going to try it."

Can anyone use audacity or something like that to determine the ROF?
Davidvaini mentioned this.
Also it would be awesome if someone could count the number of shots in the endurance test.

This certainly prooves the durability of these things!
