wow i cant believe you won a comp and got everthing you needed...that gun is the best gun i have ever seen...how does the barrel not come off when you shoot???

The compression fitting I use for breech loading off the QEV clamps the barrel very tightly just screwed down by hand. Its held sufficiently to lift the cannon by the barrel.
The barrel tees even though they're not fixed to anything, keep the barrel lined up with the rest of the cannon.

It was the way I connected the barrel on my very first cannon.
Since it worked and I saw no problems with it I carried it over to this design
The olive on the pipe has to be squashed slightly but not so it distorts the pipe, just so it has a reasonable grip. After that just screwing on the compression nut to hand tightness will hold it all quite well - I can't even twist the barrel in the fitting once its screwed down.
Since I make a point of keeping the barrel walls smooth and not using overtight ammo, very little forward force is actually put on the barrel and certainly not enough to yank it out of the compression fitting.
If I deliberately jammed the barrel or closed off the tip to a projectile then its possible that it could pull the barrel out with the sudden forward force directly applied to it. But I'd never risk it

This is an amazing gun. I love the full copper look, and much props on the design making it look cool and keeping it simple.
Oh my GOD that is such a bad a$$ gun!! I think that is the best spud gun I have ever seen.
How powerfull it it? You got a chrony to test it?

No, no chrony but it's dam powerful
I'm currently using lead slugs and they can mushroom out on concrete @ 20m and still bounce off with enough force to bury themselves in the ground
I'm searching for someone in my town whos got a chronograph but its a bit difficult. I'm going to try a couple of rifle clubs next.
McMaster doesn't stock suitable QEVs in my opinion... I had a look at them once and they're all weird.

They might not take too kindly to your design. A barreled launcher that's capable of exceeding 12 ft/lbs of muzzle energy is technically a firearm that requires a FAC.
