Is it alright to use a sprinkler valve on its side? does it lose any power or anything? I wanted to put 2 on their sides so that I can easily connect them with a t joint hose barb and some hose. Thanks.

I use my sprinkler valves in weird configurations constantly. What you have in that diagram is both possible and effective, as you're minimizing pilot volume! :D

You will want to use as large of a valve to pilot that as possible, I had problems using 2 sprinkler valves hooked up like that because they wouldn't pilot enough to open correctly, they'd just make that honking sound.
I'm weird, I know it, you don't need to tell me.

I have a pretty large one, apparently it is quite hard to find. It is rated to like 160 psi and someone told me that even when it isn't modified, (which I can't because it is held together with welding), it had a larger air flow than most. (I think your talking about the wired L looking thing on my picture right?)
