My New Sniper Cannon

This is my cannon that I have been working on ...The chamber is t-6 air craft aluminum alloy sch 80. I had steel but that was a bit to heavy. The barrle is red brass 1/2" pipe and is perfectly smooth and seamless on the in side. I plan on using wire nuts for ammo. Im going to epoxy a nail through the wire nut to make a dart. The middle part is a brass tank tee for pressure tanks for well pumps. The valve is a brass ASCO 3/4" diaphram valve. Its just like a sprinkler valve. Its also modified in a similer way. I slightly modified the guts of the valve to lighten it up. I plan on taking the gun up to 120 PSI . Inside the white cap on the botton of the tee is a pop off safety valve rated for 125 PSI. I think I might paint it? The triger is a modified safety pop off valve rated for 150psi.

you dont need metal anything if you are only going to take it up to 125. PVC pipe and fittings (so long as they are NSF-PW are good to arround 300psi at least. You are just adding unnecessary weight, but at least it will look nice.

wish your pictures went through. i'll check later.for your projectiles it might work better to find a short bolt that fits inside the wire nut and pull the aluminum thing out of the hollow cavity in the wire nut. drill a hole in the wire nut and fit the bolt through and screw a nut onto the bolt. you can grind or file it to a point or leave it blunt. i got to get my camera set up so i can posts pics to explain better.

^I for one did not get this memo.^ The psi decreases as diameter goes up. Plus i would never bring pvc to its burst pressure. I would never go over 135.

The burst pressure of 2" SCH 40 PVC is over 800 psi. As long as you don't do something stupid like filling it with a pressurised gas rather than a liquid, you'll be fine up to its rated pressure of a few hundred psi.

Since we always fill it with gas, material that is safe for use with gases is a better idea. Hence aluminum. But yeah, SCH 80 alu. pipe and a red brass barrel are kind of overkill on a gun that you can't use past 125 psi.

Take off that pop off, make a high pressure pump, and Rock on :headbang:

Is that a laser on the top?
Usually would be on bottom...heh. I thought it was a super tiny scope

that is sweet how pop valve seems to be perfect as a trigger. But its a shame that it limits you to 120 psi. I have seen some of those at a higher pressure rating on mcmaster.com (up to 300). It would be cool since it appears that your gun can handle much more psi otherwise. still, it looks comfortable and I bet it is still plenty powerfull. well made. I really dig the design.

I was going to mount the laser on the bottom of the barrel ,but I thought it might be in the way so i place it on top ..It does not block my view down the barrel. I will soon be posting some damage shots and ammo pix.

Mate that's a dead set beauty of a gun! I've always wanted to get myself a brass solenoid valve and mod it with a pop off valve but looks like I was beaten to the button :D. Great job on a great looking gun.

Need some damage pics!

All the best,

Mitcho.
