I've seen one, both pistons are activated by sprinkler valves, which are activated by a single blowgun.

i have thought of it..
since: if i use four 1/2" valves i can use a 2" barrel

You would need sixteen 1/2" valves to equal the flow of a 2" barrel. And even then, interior restrictions would cause you to need more than sixteen valves.

hmm ohh i guess that has something to do with the "D/4 rule"

ouchprogramme: got a link
spudfarm: it has nothing to do with the d/4 rule its just that 2in pipe lets that much more flow through

Well, 2" pipe would have 4 times the diameter, and therefore 16 times the flow of 1/2" pipe, because area of a circle increases as a square of radius.

Yeah
think about it in the way that if you stick 4 peices of 1/2in pipe in 2in pipe there will still be a lot of room left

I always wanted to make a topic about the *Movie Trailer Voice* 'World's Most Amazing Piston Valves', like pistons constructed with strange materials.
For example, I made a piston out of two 9mm shell casings

Yea, I built one with LynyrdSkynyrd. Basically very close to joel's Mega Launcher in configuration. Valves were 4" tees with three inch porting, triggered by an electronic 3/4" sprinkler. They were chamber sealers. Dual 6" x 48" chambers.
It was a beast. We shot a tennis ball filled with gravel well over a quarter of a mile. We did a dryfire at 40 psi with no barrel and when the air wave hit my neighbor's car about 100 feet away, it sounded like someone had just hit it with a basketball. Scared the crap out of us. Kicked like a mule too.
The only problem was the tee's weren't pressure rated and we had one blow up. We were lucky someone wasn't hurt. Working on new valves now that are pressure rated
